I have tried in vain to buy a draft excluder (cost me £77 on Lakeland just looking for one tonight:eek:) and I have decided to get my sewing machine out and make one but will have to hunt the house for things to stuff it with

Have a look at this article - actual article about draught excluders isn't great but the comments are really useful.

Off to persuade everyone to get up and dressed and then we'll have an expedition out. Hugs to all still suffering with the white stuff...

Or a Miele. We had a Zanussi dishwasher for 2 years...in that time the PCB caught fire twice and had to be repaired (OH worked for an electronics firm at the time, so this was done free), then finally the pump went.

They (Bosch and Miele) aren't cheap brands, but if you shop around you can get a good deal. Our Miele DW cost just over £350 two years ago, we bought from John Lewis via Quidco and got back £30.

We had to replace the WM two weeks later  so went for a Bosch. Would recommend either brand TBH.

Flying-wise I'm catching up on the outstanding jobs - maybe I'll get a week's worth of stars (I can dream!).

Have got to try and start the car today - it's been standing for almost a week...looks like I might be going to buy a battery charger later!

    Have a good day all

I was looking at getting a full size DW as we have just a slimline at mo (with 4 of us it struggles a bit) & lots of ex Bosch owners were recommending the Beko! equally as good or better at washing & about half the price (not the top of the range one thats been in a TV ad recently either) if I remember rightly it was this one http://www.reevoo.com/p/beko-dwd5410#/reviews

if I can manage it I will post later my progress on the lists :T how do you keep the colours when you post?

I've had the same/similar experience with Zanussi (dw and wm). Would never consider buying again. Now have a SMEG dw, and its great, but a little too short on the bottom deck for our big dinner plates.

    Intentions today,

    hall and loo floor
    washing
    ironing

    Mr S has cancelled again...

Thank you. They look like a great idea. Will need to put major effort into training up DS1 though, because he barely manages to put his dirty clothes into his laundry basket at the moment. Attaching little plastic things to pairs of socks as he takes them off will be a real challenge, but probably well worth it.

I think I may order some of these for the boys socks, their drawers are full of grey socks and black sock for school, and they are always getting lost, or a faded sock being paired with a newer sock and so they look odd, I thanks goodness for the days they are not at school at wear character socks, and least they are easily paired back up.

    Thanks agian, Kalojac

I hope to reach Level 3 today for the boys room, we did clear up the floor area on Thursday but the cupboard etc are ridiculous again, so think I may go up shortly and straighten everything out in there, so that next week will be easier. Tomorrow I hope to tackle my built in wardrobe, it is really bad, everything kinda gets chucked in their over the festive period and the trailed back out and now it looks as though it has been bombed, will do that tomorrow though.

Good luck everyone else today, will report back after supper time.

    Morning all

    Two beds stripped
    yesterday's laundry put away
    Newspaper read

Planning on going out after lunch with DH to look at tiles for the bathroom and he sensibly said lets' take the rubbish and recycling as we drive past the dump (it's another town) so that should clear some of the clutter - he needs to get rid of the christmas tree to the park first (not dumping we can drop them off their for chipping and use in the park).

Think I'll do the bathroom whilst DH makes shelves up for DS2's books.
