Looks like the recycling isn't going to be picked up today AND we haven't had a pick up for four weeks now.
Might go for a little walk with it and buy some food for the dicky birds...

3 hours later and my bedroom is back to being a bedroom!!! I can sleep in my own room again tonight!!!!! :D:D:D

Clothes/Ironing is all folded up and put away in the chest of drawers which has been decluttered of lots of summer clothes still hogging the room

These have now been sent to join the rest of the summer clothes in the suitcase under the spare room bed. Ive hung the mirror and picture in my room which have been leaning against the wall for ages, 2 down, 1 to go.

    I have a confession........

I hate ironing and I HATE matching socks. I have got to the bottom of the ironing basket and gathered up all the odd socks which keep being put to the side - and I have one whole laundry basket FULL off odd socks.....:eek::eek:

Part of me is tempted just to chuck them all away.... :rotfl:

Anyway, I think i will go and finish by dusting and doing the windows.

    xx

    Hi Everyone

Just a sneaky from work :D

I am planning on blitzing when I go home as I really don't have a lot to do, just a little from each list and none of my bathrooms have windows in them so I guess I get off easy with the blinds :p

Welcome to all the newbies, at first I was the same wondering how I ever would get through it all but I can now have my kitchen done in less than 20 minutes as I don't allow any clutter appearing on the windows etc and the floor is easily swept & a quick mop each day. Same with the living room, I have one of those bit extendable feather dusters (High Ceilings) so no more cobwebs in my house :D

I have found that the decluttering parts have been most helpful and I now have trillions of things to have a big car boot next year :T (All in the loft in boxes or behind my rocking chair in my room lol)

Jo Jo Hope you get good news from the docs today

    Lady_L (((Hugs)))

Diva Hope your wee cat is ok and thinking of Tris
(was my cats 16th Birthday on Monday )

Hugs to everyone else and hope you are all keeping warm, I have only just skimmed the last few pages.

I made Twinks Hobnobs for the first time last night but was not impressed, it was very hard to get the mixture into the tray, very gooey and no way would it press down with a fork, it was lifting back up off the tray again :confused: I used "Can't believe its not butter lighter" could this have been the prob, was gutted as usually all my baking comes out lovely and they were kinda spongy like and all spread into one another in the oven

I have a sock monster in my house as well :rotfl:I mean where do they go

I actually put them all back in the washing basket and just keep washing them, in the hope that one day they will find their partner or just disappear into the sock monsters mouth :rotfl:

I've made a good start with decluttering the dining room of doom. Didn't know where to begin at first, but remembered my mum telling me to start with a doorway and work your way in, so that's what I did. It's a dining room/playroom, so full of DS2's toys which haven't been sorted in ever such a long time. Also paperwork and anything else used downstairs but out of place in kitchen and living room.

I'm having a quick break for lunch, and then get back to it. If I sort toys before DS2 comes home from school he can decide what he wants to keep much more easily (and I'll have already thrown a fair bit ;)). I'm planning on visiting friends while DH does his teatime session in the shop and then carry on with the grown-up stuff in the DR tonight. Also got to put stew meat in SC overnight and decide what to do with the last tub of quark. I was going to make a German baked cheesecake but don't have all the ingredients. I've not moved the car since Tuesday morning, so going shopping doesn't look like an option. I may get off our street, but would probably not be able to get back on.

Right, lunch is ready. I'll update again tonight, provided I can get on DS1's laptop. Hope you are all having a good day.

Thank you so much, especially to Valli, Dusty and xx-Jo-xx for the support and comments. I will tackle the spare rooms one step at a time as suggested. I have also joined on the decluttering page of this website - might post doing 10 mins a day or something really small, till the mess has gone. I'll have a party when it's all done and you're all invited :)

The first time I made these I used soft margarine and they went like that. The next time I used proper butter and they were lovely. I think it really makes a difference in this case.

I've mostly been sorting paperwork and shredding today. Lots more guineapig bedding for DD2 :)

Possibly. I've made them a couple of time now without any problem, the last time as a present for a friend's son who was really impressed. I make individual biscuits, rolling the mixture into balls and flattening them. No problems. I always use storck for baking, or unsalted butter, if it's a special recipe/occasion. HTH.
