Hooray! Thankyou, thankyou Piggers! It ***was*** the bathroom today.
[SHAME on me for ever thinking that you might make it the attic and outbuildings today, just to steal our stars from us!:p:rotfl::rotfl:]
Anyway, that's two stars I've earned today, because I did a few jobs on the study to finish off the bathroom list; plus I did the kitchen today (there's nothing like tackling things in a logical order, is there?)

The first task for the spare room (actually I have two and both are in the same state) was to put away anything that didnt belong there. Well anything that doesnt have a home goes into the spare rooms (once one was full, we started to fill up the other one), which means that almost everything in those two rooms doesnt belong there. It would take a year to clear it, so thought I would concentrate on the easier bits for now, until those are in hand, then start to tackle the spare rooms.
Ruth
Hi Ruth - welcome to the thread. Im glad that your finding it useful! Like Dusty has said, the stars are nothing to worry about - they were more for long term fliers who become complacent and just to encourage everyone to try that little bit harder!
There are not many people who earn all the stars every week, except a few who have been following for a long time. Like Dusty said, jobs which take you 30-45 minutes initially, only take a few minutes the next time, as you are only wiping off a weeks worth of dirt instead of months of buildup! You then find you have more time to get on with the next task etc.
Regarding the spare rooms - Rome wasnt built in a day and neither was the piles of clutter in those rooms. Dont try to tackle these in one go and take 'Babysteps'. Set aside 10 minutes everyday and do something....
Go into on one room for 10 minutes everyday, either chucking out rubbish, filling a bag for the bin or charity shop, listing 5 things on Ebay...
It wont take you long to start seeing a difference and you will get there eventually, and we will be here to help you xxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

JoJo. Big hugs to you and congrats on exams.
I suffer from depression too although am managing OK(ish) on Anti-D's but am finding the lists here help me as I end the day feeling I have acommplished something - however small. I'm also finding I'm forgiving myself for the things that haven't been done as there's always tomorrow. That's a big thing for me.
In the middle of finishing the L/R list iyswim. Will update lists later on.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
4 stars in total please!
Couldn't do yesterday as it would mean sustituting kids room/spare room for walk in wardrobe and I'm just not prepared for that bit yet! Done half of it but done ironing instead of finishing!
Bathroom completed - woohoo! My house is sparkling.
Thank you everyone!:A

Benw (and anyone else collapsing under clutter) - I think you need AnWsmums patented (and popular) dot-2-dot method for those spare rooms/combined with a 15 minute challenge or HHC
here's how I would do them
get two boxes label them charity shop/freecycle and e bay. Grab a bin bag.
allocate a set amount of time a day (eg half hour HHC)
select one area/pile/cupboard and go through everything in the area.
Either keep (and rehome if necessary); put in e bay box; put in charity box; put in bin bag and bin.
every item in that area.
After half an hour stop, put up feet and leave for the next day. Photograph anything you're ebaying and upload to site (or amazon or play whatever...). Offer anything on freecycle. Put charity stuff in car ready to drop off at your convenience.
IF you can persuade someone to help you you will need BIG boxes because it's very easy to be ruthless with someone else's stuff. Precious to you but gibble to everyone else;)
When I go and fling at my sisters I actually bring a lot away with me then I know it has left her house. Much goes to neice for carbooting!
(I am only v. quick at flying because I have been here ages and have e-bayed and flung no end of stuff! - best sale was a DVD of DD's which went for an incredible £25 on Amazon!)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
OK, I've had a go at the blinds (had to take everything back off the window sill to do them and clean the sink after). They were FILTHY (sorry to shout).
I've done them as best as I can but for next time can someone tell me if there is an easy way to clean Venetian blinds? I sprayed some Dettol spray, left it for a bit and then wiped with a damp sponge. They look much better but not perfect. Now you must remember Flylady says we don't have to do things perfectly so I'm not about to dash back upstairs lol!
Next time I'd like to do them better plus the kitchen blinds will need doing when they're next on the list and there's 2 of them :eek:Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
