I'm not sure what you are trying to say.
Not exactly my opinion, just that a claim could be raised when ebay say it can, and paypal will refund when/if they decide to.
You may want to wait until RM accept your claim, but I don't think you have a choice as a seller on ebay.0 -

You obviously didnt read my original post.
At no point did i say that i wouldnt refund until i received a refund from RM. What i said was, that i wouldnt refund until RM had had a reasonable amount of time to deliver the item which, the OP stated in her case, was 15 working days.£2 Savers Club #156!

Actually that is a valid point and I fear if sellers are going to make buyers wait we may well see buyers putting in a pre emptive chargeback on day 7 as that will think all of us sellers are the same. That paypal chargeback will usually be completed 10 days later so 17 days in total, well before the 15 working days (3 weeks minimum ) that RM will be expecting seller to wait.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I did read your post, I just wonder why you think you have a choice. Payapl will refund, do you have a way of stopping them?
I'm not trying to start an arguement with you, it's just seems a clear ebay/paypal rule, and if I have mis-interpreted it I'm not alone.0 -
I have been quite surprised by this thread.
Perhaps if I say that RM and ebay are not linked would it help? I mean, it is no good complaining to Tescos about something that Asda have sold.
Ebay rules say that a buyer can put in an item not received claim in within a particular time frame. This has nothing to do with RM's targets. RM is a separate business.
As a very occasional seller of unwanted items, I would have no hesitation in refunding earlier and taking the loss (well, I have in the past, it seemed completely logical). Then when the fifteen working days were up I would make the claim to the RM - separate rules for separate businesses.
That does not in any way excuse the rudeness of the buyer.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Or your just lucky none of your items have been lost in the post.0 -
Now I'm no expert at Ebay and have only purchased a couple of things off there. I've spent some time looking at their help pages and as I read it as a buyer, if I had a problem, I'd contact you, fair enough I'd be polite but if I ranted in an email, I'd still expect a response.
Going by the post, you offered a refund on 6th January, which is all well and good, but when was the payment made? At least then we can determine whether a reasonable time period has been given for the item to arrive (was it 2nd class letter post? how much did you charge for P&P). Ebay help pages state you can open a case 3 days after the estimated delivery date or 7 days after payment if you were not given an estimated deilvery date. Therefore I can only assume that it's the payment date and thus they paid on the 16th December. Now like I say, I'm no expert and I can't work out whether a case is a dispute or a claim, but it states
" If you haven't received the item, the seller may:-

Provide shipping tracking information

Issue you a full refund
- Offer to send you a replacement item, if you agree.
We'll ask you to confirm that you've received the item or the refund. "
Personally I think that without dates no-one will get to the bottom of this. The first item I purchased had what I expected to have a reasonable amount of P&P for a disc. What I didn't expect was the seller to put a disc in an envelope with a 2nd class stamp (total cost less than 60p and charged me a lot more than that) I was polite with the feedback and was even nicer not to give a negative but suggested they amended their prices, buy some jiffy bags or forewarn buyers that CD may be in tiny little pieces on arrival as no protection is offered during post!In spite of the cost of living, it’s still popular :eek:0 - Offer to send you a replacement item, if you agree.

Although a long-tme user of this forum, this is my first visit to the Ebay section. I have to say it will probably be my last, as the attacks on the OP are shocking - some of which are by a board guide too! I'm totally gob-smacked this thread has been allowed to continue in this manner; I'm sure elsewhere on MSE it wouldn't have been allowed.

Well I don't post on this board very much (hardly ever) but I do enjoy reading it alot and I can't see where Soolin or anyone else has been rude??
If I bought something from ebay on say 17th December....didnt recieve it by Xmas Eve I would send a polite email saying
"hi, sorry im not being pushy but just wanted to check if it had been sent"...
If I was then sent a royal mail link telling me to wait 15 days I would be a bit angry....then to be ignored ignored ignored for 2 weeks I would be hitting you with a big fat Negative right in the chops...
If you had replied "Oh im really sorry it was send on **** please give it a couple more days because post if slow at Xmas, if you don't recieve it within another 3-4 days let me know and i will refund you and chase it up with royal mail, thank you"
I really don't understand why you ignored your buyer...
Also i really don't understand why you keep saying you never told them to wait but obviously you did cause they contacted you before Xmas but you refused to refund till 6th Jan?
Everyones posts on here are their opinion and every one is entitled to it but i had to login just to post that some of the comments saying
"oh why are you being spikey, oh your rude"
were read in the wrong way.
Re-read the original post..pretend you are the buyer..would you be happy if you asked for the whereabouts of your order to then be pounded with royal mail blah blah then ignored??? No i don't think anyone would be very happy...
