you talk out of your !!!!!! m8 ;)
And you are really in a position to make a judgment on the integrity of someone you've never met ;D Make whatever assumptions you want, doesn't bother me ::)
If you bothered to take the time to go over to the outlet forums you'd see I spend the majority of my time helping other people find bargains, am honest and helpful and not the sort of person to waste time making up crap0 -
I judged you from what you have wrote on this thread and thus i can confirm that you do indeed talk out of you !!!!!!,and whats with all the
trying to look clever, moron.
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Just to try and get this back on the money-saving track a bit... It occurred to me that if Dell has some solid reason (which they do) for releasing kit cheaply via the internet then other manufacturers must surely have similar requirement. Perhaps there are other cheap outlets just waiting for moneysavers to help with unloading them. Problem is where are they.I ♥ MSE0

There is no way you can make a judgement as to whether I'm lying or not from what I posted as there is no evidence either way, just your unjustified assumptions, so it's clearly you that is talking out your !!!!!!. And I don't need smiley faces to make myself look clever, you're doing the job perfectly well for me thanks.
Anyway I didn't come here to waste time flaming with kids, I've said my piece so shall leave on that note. Thanks to those that actually bothered to read it :)0 -

I too agree with most of what scoob said. However the arguments that Ds3 has posted are a lot more convincing than anything you have contributed to this thread.0 -
Yeah, and if it wasn't for the scripters finding these cast offs for you, chances are you wouldn't get anything at all because these deals would be picked up by other people and bought immediately, instead of saved and offered to the non-scripters on the forums.
The best deals are not offered to the non scripters, only the ones
without ebay potential get offered round. As i said, Crumbs.Yes, I do now, although for all of 2004 I was buying using F5. As far as I know Adam doesn't have a scriptWhether they are banned or not it's still not going to make any difference to whether other people get them - even if disussing them is allowed no-one is going to hand theirs out and create more competition for themselves. It's really quite a simple concept:
Current situation = lots of good bargains available to everyone, few scripters get the very best ones.
Situation if script released = 90% of outlet users lose access to any bargains, high potential for outlet as we know it to shut down altogether.
Take your pick...
Current situation = Priviledged few get the real bargains, rest get poorer value or leftovers. I've seen far better bargains on the main dell site than the stuff you lot hand down.
Situation if script released = Level playing field. And THAT, is what this site is all about, sharing the brgains out! >:(Val0 -
If I have some more time to play I might have a go at knocking something together myself.
I have just had a quick go with some web automation software and could refresh the page, select systems and add to the basket easily could also return the price of the systems easily and other fields. I think I might need to use the control in VB to test the value of these fields as I couldn't see how to test these variables to only select the systems that meet the specific criteria.0 -
I really do wish I hadnt started this thread at all now, its got quite distastful.
I got grumbled at within the first few posts by some here who thought it shouldnt be in "grab it quick"
I will think twice now before posting any other stuff I find.
As I see it reading between the lines, even if a script is released it wont make much difference to who gets the best deals as the ones using them now have refined them to a degree where they can take just about whatever they like and more to the point hold onto them for just about as long as they like without them having to drop them back onto the site within 15 minutes for others to see and grab.
Now you cant grab more than 5 units at any one time in your basket but I bet that doesnt apply to scripters either, so IF a script is released all that will happen is the outlet will suddenly empty of units while the well honed scripters sort through what they have trawled up and they will then drop what they consider not worth holding onto for others to fight over.
This wont change as they probably run from big fat pipes with little to no latency and the guys at home with their broadband connections and iffy scripts wont be able to refresh quick enough to get in first unless they are extremly lucky.
All I see happening is Dell looking at the pages and seeing little or no units there because they are all being held in a few guys baskets while they sort through them, this situation and the lack of sales while they are held in baskets will force them to act to stop it by either making the pages unscriptable......well I cant see that happening, or they will have to shut the outlet down and go to Ebay, then nobody gets anything as cheap.
So what do you all want to do? Loose it for good or be prepared to take whats offered by guys like Ds3 and others over there. They are quite helpful people and do offer units they dont want to others before dropping them and would probably look out for one to your spec and price range if you asked.
If you wanted a cheap part for your car you wouldnt think twice about asking someone you know in the trade to get it for you, well whats the difference in asking someone to source you a cheaper Dell unit?
I think there is more chance of getting what you want that way than any other method.
I would love to have a script but know that even with one I wouldnt do much better than now with F5 on my broadband connect.
I actually took an offered on the forum unit from Ds3 the other day as I realised that the chance of finding it cheaper myself was small, he was more than helpful and he doesnt know me from Adam.
There are guys on here who order 10's or 100's of whatever missprices come along and boast about it afterwards, you may not like it but thats life and different strokes for different folks.
Are you now going to contact the companies who offer misspriced goods and tell them so they can close the door before the ones who order multiples can get theirs, no of course your not, there never will be a level playing field so I suggest we agree to disagree and get back to finding those bargains.
I am going to ask to have this thread either closed or moved to a more suitable location as its drifted so far away now from what it started as that I dont think its fair to have it keep bouncing back up this list.
Mike.All Dell'd upseveral times over

Well I for one am really pleased that you started the thread, although I'm disappointed with the way it has subsequently gone. I've logged into your site and read through it, and it seems like a genuinely useful resource to me
I particularly like the rules that the forum has about selling on machines, minimising the mark-ups that people are allowed to add on, insisting that the original Dell invoice be produced as evidence, etc.
There are hundreds and hundreds of internet users that run scripts for a whole range of purposes, who would never sign up to any forum of that nature, and most people never know about them, they carry on with what they do for 100% selfish purposes (which is up to them, I'm not criticising them for that, at least the the ones that aren't doing anything illegal)
Your forum gives ordinary surfers like myself a chance to benefit from their detailed knowledge of Dell products, and to obtain a Dell PC at a very competitive price. I'm sad that these people, who are honest enough to admit to what they do, are being treated in such a disrespectful way by a few members of the MSE forumThanks to all who post constructively.
Have an A1 day!0
