    dont ask.

    they wont share them

as i said - some of the guys are programmers that have written their own utilities - not scripts - scripts wouldnt stand a chance against them

    you have to

    a) be lucky with F5.
    b) take the machines they dont want.

What crap. A script is not by definition any slower than a utility, in fact a script can be a utility. I presume you mean a script vs compiled code; in this case there is no reason why a script written in an appropriate language should be any slower.

Right people, there is obviously some interest so I will produce a test version that will let you "try before you buy".

I have not given too much consideration to what to charge, but my gut feeling is £20 plus you make a £5 donation to the Tsunami Charity Fund

I will keep people posted, probably in the referers section of the board as that seems to be the most appropriate section

Will probably take a few days to finalise

I have written programs to do screen scraping in similar cases, and this is 1 hour's work. No way should you be charging £20 on what is supposed to be a site for helping others for this. Selfish or what. £20 for you, £5 for charity, why not just come out and say that you couldn't care less about the charity.

  • Copyright doesn't even come into it, why would it ???  nobody is stealing their script, we are all talking about scripts in general and one poster is even making his own, so where is the copyright infringement there   ???  ::)

Well make up your mind you were whinging that
"It's the scripts that are for the select few"

Who said anybody is stealing scripts?

The guy making his own will own the copyright to it and is entitled to keep it to himself or share it with any one he so chooses. I am astonished that you dont understand basic copyright law, but then again after reading your posts maybe I'm not..

Just to say that there are 20 Inspiron 9200's widescreen laptops going at the moment.

At a guess they are going for about £200 less than the brand new price as the prices range from £800 to £1200 including P&P.
  • OK,

I think this thread has now gone far enough in relation to Dell's outlet site and the script issues.

I think that we are all now aware that Dell have an outlet site, and that you may be lucky enough to grab a bargain. The other issues beign dealt with have taken this thread into a discussion area that it doesnt need to go any further into
