Oooh, can I join in too?
I'd like to lose about 1 1/2 to 2 stone by the end of May (brother's wedding).
And it'll be a money saving thing for me as I've go loads of lovely clothes I can no longer fit into comfortably - so if I lose the weight I won't have to buy new clothes :rotfl:!!
I've just bought a new house and the 'moving in debts/costs' are racking up, so once I've finished decorating and moving stuff in I'll be able to cycle to work and save on the diesel too.
I'll be doing about 8 miles a day as I'll need to go home at lunchtime for the dogs - that's around 40 miles a week, so if I combine that with a regular run and a boxercise class, coupled with salads I'm hoping to manage at least the lower target.
However, I'm always optimistic at the start of these things!!
My main problem is breakfasts, I find nothing fills me up better than a wodge of bread and jam in the morning (I've tried Special K but am ravenous by mid-morning and then I reach for the biccy tin!).
Any suggestions for easy fill-you-up brekkies? Apart from porridge, which I love, but can only eat smothered in syrup!:rolleyes:0 -
Hi Louise, please can I join? I don't tend to post very much on MSE but am always lurking and this thread looks ideal for motivation. I have about 4st to lose but prefer to look at it as smaller goals so will pledge 7lbs in time for my birthday on 14 Feb.
I aim to cut out alcohol, plan and eat more healthily (have become especially lazy re: lunch time) and exercise more. At first this will entail taking the stairs every time and doing an exercise DVD a couple of times a week.xnatalie81x wrote: »Does anyone want an email buddy to message diet and exercise plans and diaries to to keep us on the straight and narrow and steal meal ideas lol xx
I'd be interested in buddying up also. PM me if you are interested. ValxBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Ok was thinking about this last night and these are my methods to losing the weight (don't laugh)
A friend recommended a hypnotherapy cd So I bought one the other day from itunes for £4 and have been listening to it & have found I havent had cravings for all the rubbish bad food!
The one I have is "lose weight now by Glenn Harrold" it's also making me feel relaxed & positive I didnt expect much from it and kinda ordered it as a bit of a joke but it seems to be working for me!!
Secondly I've taken up Pilates (all be it from the comfort of my own home) using a "Pilates weightloss workout for dummies dvd" (cost me £4) which is really easy to follow, well instructed but I can feel it's working already as I'm aching alot lol!! Also it's improved my posture which was really bad, I was out in a club the other night standing by the bar with my feet aligned in a pilates pose without me even thinking about it!
Thirdly I've signed up to a weekly dance class for absolute beginners (starts next week) and am dragging my Mum along with me should be a bit of fun anyhow!!
I'd like to hear what others are doing??0 -

Day 1 for me today. The house is absolutely rammed full of chocolate and cake but to be honest I really don't fancy it. Maybe having it available will actually help my diet
because if it weren't here I'd want it.
I did sit and eat all of my favourites out of the quality street tin yesterday though:A

I'm so up for joining this. I'd love to lose around 3stone, is that achievable in a year? I'm not eating at the moment because of tonsilits, doh! I live at uni so it should be dead easy to keep track on what I eat. Just need to buy some scales and die of humiliation now!!0
