Hi Lou - can you add me too? I only want to lose 9lbs to be at the weight I'm happy with......but I do find it hard, especially at the moment with so many chocs and biscuits left from Christmas!! Can you add me to the spreadsheet please?

I've started by cutting out bread, cakes etc and have only had the odd chocolate over the past couple of days! Am also going to try and use the Wii Fit more......if we can persuade DS2 (whose Wii it is) that it'd be better to have the Wii downstairs, rather than in their bedroom;)

  • Oh thanks for that Buffy, it does say on my little weigh in booklet thing that you do get charged up to 3 missed weeks except for illness or holiday but if I didn't go back then :o I would continue to follow the plan myself, well keep counting points so I know not to scoff and do a bit of exercise :D

Thing is I did enjoy going a first (went with a friend from work) but after a while all it seemed was a plug for ww items. The leader is nice but eventually my OH said 'why don't you just do it yourself and treat yourself with the fiver?' and I thought well yeah he is right, over three months I have forked out over £60+ minus the books, special bars etc!! I could put that in savings or towards my debts, it just seems so much money overall and for what? It's me that is eating less and exercising to Biggest Loser DVDs in my bedroom, sweating like I'm in a sauna and paying for it the next day walking like John Wayne. I DESERVE that bloody fiver, I've earnt it! :rotfl:

Sorry I don't mean to waffle but hope some of you can understand, £5 doesn't seem alot but it certainly builds up over time and it is all down to common sense really, its the motivation that the hardest part.

  • crikey no, I do understand totally Toffee, 20 quid a month to be told what you can read in a book is in my opinion too much and the way they plug the WW stuff (which is their job I know) makes you - or at least me dependant on having WW stuff to eat and so I didn't do it with real food and so you lose the weight and then leave to put it all back on.

I do think ww is really good for people who can afford it but honestly I do see it as a luxury for me an extra 20 quid on my debts is a much bigger priority. I am sure I can lose weight on my own - well with you lot xxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Can i join too Lou- i would like to aim for 14 lbs first of all.

I wouldn't mind the wii game either.

Is ED joining in too or is she just lurpacking in the corner ;)

hi all can i join please, i did something similiar on here this time last year and did quite well but piled it all back on during holiday in october and xmas has added more pounds.I weigh now exactly the same as i did this time last year but have dropped stone and gained it again. my problem is keeping it off if i can loose the weight and weigh 18lbs less by dec 31st then it will be a big acheivement in my life. Have just eaten an enormous chinese takeaway, chips, prawn crackers all washed down with a few vodkas and coke and i'm feeling a tad obese to say the least LOL. I gave up with the last ww thread that was started as come feb nobody seemed to be bothered. I think its great if we can all support one another and report gains and losses as we all know its never easy to keep it going after the first few weeks/month. I would like to loose 18lbs and plan on returning to the gym twice a week and walk to and from work twice aday about 15mins each way. going to cook a few ww meals as have recipes and just combine this with healthy eating. gosh sorry for waffling heres to successful losses for everyone

  • Aw thanks for that Buffy you have made me a feel better and you can do anything you want to when you put your mind to it ;) I am not really a big fan of what the scales say, sometimes totm can play havoc with your weight so I prefer how I feel and look in clothes.

I was a size 12 and stopped smoking, slowly, slowly the food portions got bigger and I never did any exercise (the internet has a lot to answer for!). I bought bigger size clothes and when they started to feel tight thought about buying the next size. It was only looking though holiday photos I saw how 'fat' I looked. It looked like my head, body, arms etc had ballooned and I knew I wanted to do something about how I looked and thats why I started WW.

Now I am back in my 12s after losing that stone, but have pigged out over Christmas and know if I get back into my old habit of eating more, doing less I will balloon again and I don't want to do that. So I know I have to keep up the work I did before to stay the same which I am happy with. I would like to lose another stone which is what I was before a few years ago.

I am starting afresh on Monday, back to work on Tuesday armed with fresh fruit and salad. The hardest part for me is always when I come home from work and reaching into the cupboard for biscuits and snacks before dinner. I find it really hard to resist.

Good luck to you all girls x

  • Please can I join too? I have 35lbs to lose in total.

I've found it easier to lose weight whilst being careful with the food budget, but December has been a disaster and I've put quite a lot back on.

I do no exercise, so my aim is to start to do a bit, even if it's just a couple of times a week. I also need to meal plan, cook myself rather than getting quick fixes and stick to the budget.

Right motivated to make a start on Monday - but in the process of trying to get rid of all the left over goodies I have managed to eat so many peanuts that I have given myself a sore stomach! not a good start!
Going to Sainsurys tomorrow for the last time in a while (more expensive than Asda but very convenient as it is next to my DD work so pass Sat and Sun every week) - got 6 £12 off a £60 shop vouchers in december. They are dated and the last one is for this week. Hopefully I will get everything I need to last me til payday - still got loads of food in the freezer so just need fresh stuff and fruit and veg - actually looking forward to this is a weird sad kind of way! Bring it on!
