  • Hi there......this is just what I need ....can I join too....

I'm sick of doing SW every Jan and paying out lots of money which I could be saving in my pot.....

I'm going to start by cutting down on the snacks (biccies and cakes) and I'm going to start walking it to work 1 day a week and then build it up. It will take me around 25/30 mins, but once I get a bit fitter, a bit less.

I would like to reach my ideal weight this year, so I would like to lose 36 pounds.........My son (18) and daughter (16) have never seen my at the slim weight I used to be and I would LOVE this to be MY YEAR:T

Actually you know, I am quite scary - saw an ex student of mine on NYE, she was so surprised to see me out buying alcohol- but miss you were always so strict.

Must remember once upon a time I was quite tough............

  • Hello, can I join too please. I'd like to lose 56lbs this year, I've got all the books..........I know how to do it, its just the willpower that I lack. I have a wardrobe full of lovely clothes that just don't fit. I would like to get the old me back and stop spending money just to try and make myself feel a bit better!

  • Hi all, I'm back with a vengeance after getting the all clear from the Doc on my dodgy leg!

So far I've lost 3 pounds in my first week of watching my diet and exercising like I used to. Ok, so there's another 11 pounds to go before I'm happier about things, but I'm on the way at least.

Because the ground is still really slippy and unpredictable, I've only been doing some treadmill runs of late, but have been running fairly steadily at 6 mins per km with a gradient for 20 mins or so at a time. Not great, but having done very little over the past 6 months, I'm relatively happy with that.

I'm doing the Winter Run 5k in Edinburgh next weekend (eek!) and have an entry in the 10K in May and the Moonwalk in June.

Oh well, start as you mean to go on!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Good Luck Snowdonlily......I know how you feel......Even shifting the 1st 1/2 stone has a really powerful effect and this forum should be great for giving us all a bit of encouragement.....:T

  • Oh wow another fantastic thread to get stuck in to, well done Louise J :T

Apologies for the waffle but I have been on the weight watchers plan for over 3 months, lost 1 stone overall but two weeks before Christmas I was naughty and didn't bother going to my last two weigh ins because I wanted to enjoy myself :o But I just wanted some advice about what happens now? Do I still get charged for missing meetings if I don't bother going back?

The thing is I find it quite expensive at £5.50 every week when I know deep down there is no big secret it is all down to me eating less and doing more and we are really trying hard to change our habits this year and save a little but I am worried about signing up for membership at the meeting.

    Any advice guys please?

I need to lose 52lbs (double my age :O ) so I'll say I'll try to lose 52lb by the end of the year, and hopefully half of that by end of May.

I think you are meant to be charged but it may depend on your leader?

I got the shopping guide and the eating out guide and then stopped going to the meetings. just too much money for me to pay out.

I am going to do WW just using the books,
