Hi everyone.
I quit smoking a couple of weeks ago and already gained 3lbs. Can I join you all in your quest to lose a bit of weight? Count me in for 21lbs by April.
Good luck everyone

ShaggyWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Right! That's it!!!!!
Yesterday was a nightmare - as others have said being stuck at home is a definite diet disaster! Instead of lunch I had a packet of crisps (big pack) and a bar of white choc. Managed to walk the dog 3 times in the snow but that was scant consolation for the binge eating - boo! I did have what I said I was going to for tea and nothing else but the day was a write off nevertheless.
I have decided that as a kick up the bum and to stop complacency I'm going to try the Anna Richardson (thank that's her name?) thing of 1200 calories a day starting today.
Not sure about what I'm having yet but have had a smallish bowl of cornflakes (no milk) and will work out the cals in a minute (had them before I decided on my new start)
Was thinking about making a potato curry and seeing what that's like for cals - will look at what we have in and then decide.
Hope I can go the uni tomorrow - may die of boredom if I can't!0 -
Just had lunch which was leftover potatoes mixed with some spring onions and a small spoonfull of extra light mayo. Had that on a bed of lettuce and toms.
Just polished off the last slice of lemon cake from Tuesday but I am just about to scrub both bathrooms so that should make up for it:o
Dinner tonight will be chicken curry and rice followed by low fat jelly and fruit. I am really missing getting out for my walks with OH on an evening. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Just shovelled snow for 75 mins - apparently 60 mins of this is 400 cals:T:T
Also did a quick calculation of what I've had so far - 637 cals - that's cornflakes, one slice of wholemeal bread, half a tin of beans, blob of brown sauce and a go ahead bar.
That means I have 563 cals left for the day.:o
Harder than it looks this cal counting lark!0 -
I have just had my lunch (tin of cream of chicken soup and slice of bread) then signed up to food focus
What a useful site - It says I can have 1660 calories per day but I will be aiming for 12-1400
I logged my lunch - I found out my tin of soup although only 142 calories was 50% fat :eek:

Walked for about 2 hours yesterday in the snow, for about an hour in half-calf deep snow - having checked, it's around 1000 calories, so I was right to eat a little more. Ate a bit more but I reckon that's cos of the cold.
Today I walked into town and wandered round getting stuff, as it's icy I think that counts as a moderate walk - so about 700 calories. But I'm TRYING not to eat too much, but if I do I can make up for it tomorrow - have to walk to train station - that'll take nearly an hour due to the ice, then the same home - so that's another 7-800 calories, then having a wander on break, that's another 500 - then walking to uni and back to station - that's half an hour, so I'll hopefully burn 1500 by walking due to weather conditions. Have my flask to make up some nice hot tea and GF rolls for lunch tomorrow..yummy!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

Hi,
Am I too late to join in?
I want to lose 4 stone this year. I will be following the slimming world plan (with OH) which I was on before Christmas - I lost 1 1/2 stone before the holiday.
Weigh in is tonight - weather permitting - and I am fully expecting to have put on a big chunk of weight (but I had real fun doing so!!)Ebay challenge 2010 - £525
