Hi All
Pay Day today – woohoo! I also find myself in the rather fortunate position of having quite a lot of February’s money left over, which has enabled to make some rather lovely big PADs today!
So today’s PADs are £5.25 to Abominable Amex, then £29.39 + £57.97 + £41.88 + £40.07 + £33.69 + £22.97 to Evil Egg, making a total today of £231.22PigginSkint's debt free diary

Total credit cards: 30/4/17 £25971.91

Hi all, another £1 to the ccs today. Blooming snow still falling.
Hi to newbies. :hello:
Euro, I don't spend on my Barclaycard anymore but we have used OH's Capital One card for emergencies i.e. things we should have saved/budgeted for and haven't.Like factor fees, car MOT and servicing etc. A lot of that debt has then been BT'd to my Barclaycard on LOB deals.
Have finally decided to actually start putting £20 per month away for factor fees (bi-annual) and £20 for car costs (MOT, servicing, etc). OH is waiting on a cheque to clear that will pay off his Capital One card and I'm determined not to use it again. If he uses it I will chop his hand off!:rotfl: Well actually, I'll just take it off him but he has been warned.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -

Factor fees are paid when you live in a flat that you own ( I think it's just a Scottish thing?). The factor is usually a company that looks after the maintenance of the building and grounds. Each flat has to pay towards repairs and the management fee - we pay bi-annually.
My flat is on a development so the costs are split between quite a few flats, although repairs to our block are split between the 8 flats in it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Go it. We do have that here too, I'm not sure what its called though, although I'm guessing not a factor fee

OK, pay has arrived in my bank account
I've sent funds to the UK, so just have to wait for them to arrive.
I think I will need to use the CC to help with the flights cost for this month. Even with Pyscho's staff discount it is coming up expensive, and i've compared with BA and they are still more expensive. It's because of the days I want to fly. If I flew mid week it would be much cheaper. Anyway, have sent some additional money to UK to cover some of the cost and will send more again next month.
So.....PAD of €100 to savings (that trip in May is fast approaching!). Exchange rate from oanda.com of 0.87774 gives a PAD of 87.77 GBP.
Oh man, I really didn't want to have to use the CC for my trip home but needs must. One of my friends, who I haven't seen since June, has finally scraped enough money together to return to Kent the same weekend I visit and I'm not missing out on that. She's my best friend and I miss her dearly.
But, I WILL send extra money again next month to make up for it.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hi all again
Opened the A&L ISA that Martin highlighted in his email yesterday (thanks Martin) which pays 3.5% for the first year. I have transferred £50 into it this morning so another PAD of £50 for me please Keza. Thanks for the totalling this month.Payment A Day £15 (started 17/5/14) :j0 -

I think I last used my mine in June/July to buy the flights home for my brother's Wedding. And for me, the biggest temptation now is to use it for flights home. Which reminds me, must send extra to UK this month to pay for flights! lol
But, other than that, I don't really think about them anymore. They're still in my purse, which is weird. I think it's because I feel I need them with me as back up for emergency. Like when I got stuck in the snow in January - if I had to, I could've used the card to pay for a hotel room overnight.
Not sure why I can resist them now, but not before. Maybe it's just a change in my attitude, not just towards the CC's, but to finances and debt in general.
How about everyone else? Do you find it easier now? Or more difficult?
i use my credit card all the time - it's an M&S card - like a debit card and transfer the money over straight away. this way, i get the reward vouchers (we usually get about 20-30 quid per quarter and have never paid interest to them!). you have to be strict with yourself very very disciplined to do this, but it works for us!and it only works if you don't carry over any balance - we spent years paying interest to various CC's so i know how it feels but when we moved house 6 years ago we cleared all CC debt and have kept it clear. xxxx
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A
