Managed to do the ironing, hoovering and cleaned the bathroom yesterday. My brother came round to drop off the money he owed me for his share of my mum's birthday present and ended up staying for his dinner. Of course I had to text my mum to tell her where he was cos he doesn't think to tell her these things - he's 18 and doesn't seem to realise she might want to know.:rotfl:

Found out last night that one of OH's friends wants to get a loan for £7000, partly to consolidate his debts but mostly to get some type of hair transplant. His hair is thinning a bit on top but it's not that bad as long as he keeps it short. I'm quite shocked that he's willing to pay so much for it!

Having a bit of a dull day and really hate all this waiting about in regards to the medical and job etc. I've not got a lot of patience.

OH's other friend, his wife and their toddler are coming up on Friday for the weekend, so that should be interesting as the wife is a bit funny with me and can blow quite hot and cold which is annoying. Oh well, will just to see what mood she's in this time.

    Thanks gilli. :)

OH has managed to sell a few bits on ebay so that should help keep us going until his next pay. Hoping to find out about the job within a week or so.

Have been reading this sewing thread and am really impressed with some of the stuff people are making on there! I really want to make some sock monkeys now but am the world's worst at sewing and don't have a sewing machine. :( Will look out for some groovy socks now though in preparation.

My mum was talking about getting a sewing machine so maybe I should encourage that scheme. :D And then I can get a shot of it to make sock monkeys...:rotfl: Well she does have a spare room, so could make it her sewing room which I could occasionally appropriate. She would need to show me how to work it though and re-teach me how to knit since I haven't done it since I was about 8. Hmmm. Some of the people on the thread who make sock monkeys knit them little hats and scarves - so jealous! :rotfl:The kids would love them though, they're great - OH even wants one now. :D

Just some housework planned for today and have the chiropractor later on for my back to be re-aligned.

Think I will make some vanilla cupcakes tomorrow, OH has requested pink frosting for some reason. :p

Ended up going round to see my mum in the afternoon yesterday and my sister was there with the kids. Seriously don't know how she copes with them all - if the twins aren't getting up to something the boys are fighting and it's just general chaos.

My brother was telling me about when he was babysitting and trying to get cardigans on the twins - everytime he got a cardigan on one and started on the other, the first twin had pulled off her cardigan. I gather that this went on for some time. :rotfl:

Had the chiropractor in the evening and then headed home - OH went out after work to watch the football. He doesn't even like football that much but seems to have become a bit obsessed with the world cup. *shrug*

I scanned some old family photos onto the computer for my mum to email to her cousins in America. I think the oldest one is my great great grandfather in his fireman's uniform and it's probably late 19th century or early 20th. There was also a very formal picture of my grampa's family in 1921 when my grampa was a baby. Really interesting to look at actually.

Think I will need to give the house another quick tidy today and put some washing on. Also planning to make some cupcakes later and really need to go food shopping but feeling really tired today for some reason.

I'm also (sadly) excited because it's the series finale of Grey's Anatomy tonight and it was sooo good last week. :j

Well, have spent the day with OH, his friend and friend's toddler, tantrums galore. I'm exhausted from watching him scream! :rotfl:

Just made some vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting and sprinkles so can maybe bribe him with those later. ;)

Don't have anything much to say unfortunately except I'm tired and can't handle children! :p

The weather has been awful all day here - started off drizzly and then was pouring. Was out with OH, his friends and their toddler and went for a late lunch to Pizza Express as had those vouchers where you get a pizza for 45p when you buy a main course. It was still quite expensive though. :(

Friends toddler is driving us mad as going through his terrible twos and all he ever says is "No" or "I don't want to". What's more surprising is the amount of stuff they let him away with without disciplining him. He was having a screaming tantrum in our flat last night and was lying on his back on the floor kicking my living room door (with his shoes on - leaving black marks on it). He didn't even get into trouble for it.:mad:

Cut my finger quite badly this morning when cutting up meat for the cats as the knife slipped. Keep doing this ever since we sharpened the knives recently. Also woke up with a really sore shoulder - felt like the muscle was in spasm or there was a trapped nerve or something. It's still pretty sore but a lot better than it was. :(

OH has been sitting reading this over my shoulder. Really hate when he does that. Have no patience this weekend, just feel so drained.

My flat is a child-free haven once more - I'm really enjoying the quiet now. :D The poor cats are too, think they were a bit traumatised by the screaming tantrums all weekend. My nervous cat is methodically chewing her blanket now - I think the poor thing is stressed.

Thankfully friends' toddler was slightly better behaved today (only one big tantrum - oh my eardrums and my poor living room door). OH is adamant that he never wants kids and I'm inclined to agree after this weekend. :rotfl:

OH's friends did give me a lovely flowering plant (not sure what kind) to say thank you which was nice. Their toddler had come round to me by the time they were heading home, was a bit odd with me as didn't know me. He LOVES OH though as he goes down to see them several times a year. :rotfl: Wanted OH to do everything with him if Daddy couldn't. OH was thrilled and kept rolling his eyes at me but secretly I think he liked it!

My shoulder is a lot better today although still feeling exhausted - maybe it's just proximity to toddler tantrums.

Still feeling very tired but forced myself to get up at my usual time and stripped the bed. Sheets are now washed and just have to hang them up - really miss having a garden to hang sheets out in, it's the best smell ever.

Also headed over to Morrisons for potatoes and frozen veg as making chicken and onion pie later (a la Weezl) with leftover chicken from the roast yesterday. Going to make coconut bread as well, yum yum. :D Ribena was on BOGOF so got that as well, it's so expensive. Bought turkey thigh and some pork belly to freeze for the cats.

Hoping to hear something about the job this week, fingers crossed it's positive. It's my birthday this week so some good news would be a nice present. :j

Made the chicken and onion pie last night (was very good if I do say so myself) and there was enough left over for another dinner, so that's in the freezer. OH was most impressed as we had mashed potato, gravy and peas with it as well.

Have done some more washing today and hung it up and will think about cleaning later. My disaster of the day so far is sterilising my Mooncup in boiling water on the hob - and forgetting all about it. I only remembered when I smelled burning.:mad: Thankfully I caught it before it melted or went all brown. I've already knackered two mooncups by boiling them dry. So glad I didn't ruin this one as well, they're not cheap!

Made OH a packed lunch for work today as if I don't do it it doesn't get done and he will just go out and buy stuff with money we don't have. :wall:

Need to see my friend at some point this week as she's due her baby in 3 weeks and is bored and uncomfortable. I said I would take her out to do a bit of shopping if she wants but think she might be too tired.

I'm still thinking about making a sock monkey but need socks and toy stuffing before attempting it. I can always attempt to hand sew it as at least it will be sewing practice for me.

Also need to start exercising again as I've been so lazy and think I've put a bit of weight on from not being out at work. :(

Have been very lazy so far this morning and have only put a washing away and another one on and hung up. Need to do some Pilates, clean out the litter tray, clean the bathroom and do some ironing.

Have sent an email about my medical to the company I might be getting a job with - just asking if they have heard anything yet and to let me know how things are progressing. Still keeping fingers tightly crossed.

Ordered some toy stuffing on ebay yesterday with the paypal money I had from surveys. Should arrive end of the week or early next week, so just need some funky socks to attempt to make a sock monkey next week.

My cats keep trying to eat my new plant so am going to have to put it in another room at night to stop them knocking it over and chewing the flowers. I suspect my silly boy cat is the main culprit.

Nothing much else to report and doubt I will be going out today as the weather is pants.
