Well done on Shred and the FANTASTIC monkey! :T Oh AND the job! :j
I think if you stockpiled a load of those you could make a packet doing Craft Fairs Pre-Christmas - they'd go down a storm.
Glad things are on the up x0 -
Thanks mac. Finished my second sock monkey last night - will try and get a photo on tomorrow. I think my stitching was a bit better and tried some different things to see how it turned out (made the tail thinner and did the ears a bit differently).
Still in aching muscle territory with shred but was good and got up and did it first thing this morning. Was still nearly crying with the pain of it though.
Went out shopping with OH as he needed new shoes for work and had £25 Debenhams vouchers. Managed to get a pair for £40, so he only paid £15. I had a gift card as well for my birthday so got a shock absorber sports bra in the sale for £13.50 and a pair of men's socks (£1.50 in the sale) for another sock monkey. Obsession or what?! Used my gift card so didn't cost any money. :j
Then we used our Pizza Express clubcard vouchers for lunch as had £20 to be used by August. Had a nice pizza and beer then went home and napped on the couch. Drinking in the afternoon always makes me sleepy.
Just watched a Blu-ray and had some Pringles and dips so that was nice.

Woke up feeling slightly less achey today which is good. :j Did my shred and was still feeling the pain but not as much.
:D
Have been doing a bit of housework - dishes, stripping the bed, putting washing on and still need to do some ironing and bake some cookies.
Need to check I have everything I need for tomorrow and need to remember to do packed lunches. Feeling a bit sick at the thought of going to a new job and doing something very different to what I've done before but also relieved that I finally have a job to start.
OH is watching the German GP so isn't for moving but he is making lasagne for dinner later, mince is defrosting now.
As promised will be adding pictures of my second sock monkey - I think the stitching is a lot better and it looks neater than Eddie. I think I like the tail on this one better as did it slightly thinner. OH decided it was a girl monkey cos it has pink in it and has named it Mandy. :rotfl:He's getting right into deciding the sexes and naming the sock monkeys. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks gilli and mac.
I think I need to practice the sock monkeys a bit more before they would be good enough to sell.
First day at new job today and it went ok, doing an induction week at head office this week and doing on the job training after that. There were only four people in my training group (including me) and I'm the only female. Doing fire safety training tomorrow - no idea what to expect.
Got a travel pass so have free train travel now. :j
Feeling pretty tired as up early and out all day after months of not working and came home and did shred. I was sooo tired and really felt it tonight. My shins are really aching and not sure why?!
Think I might collapse by the end of the week! Earning money again will be good but I already feel grumpy with tiredness.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. That's nice of you to say about the sock monkeys as well.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Fire safety training was quite good actually - we got to use all the different types of fire extinguishers and went through a smoke filled train carriage (not real smoke obv). It was quite scary actually as it was so thick and couldn't see.
Got to go home quite early as well which was good. :j Came home, did my shred and am just relaxing now. My muscles aren't all stiff and achey when I wake up in the mornings so I must be getting a bit fitter. :j
Was bad and bought myself a Boost bar on the way home so had that with a cup of tea after shred.
OH ordered some camouflage socks on ebay for me to make an army sock monkey for my oldest nephew.Need to start another one as it's my younger nephew's birthday in a month. Would like to make a pirate one for him - maybe skull and crossbone socks and an eye patch?! :rotfl:
