:rotfl: Gilli - I have a bag full of socks and a huge bag of stuffing to make more! Everywhere I go I'm looking at socks. :o

Thinking about buying some felt and cutting out letters so I can stitch the kids' names onto their monkeys. Not sure if that would work but will give it some thought.

Instead of a whole name, maybe try just a bigger initial letter? still personalised but not too fiddly x

Yes psycho, that was my first thought - only both the boys have the same intial and so do the twins! How inconsiderate of my sister! :rotfl: Although, they all have longish names so it will be fiddly to do full names. Hmmm.

I think for the army monkey I will do a rank insignia on the arm and a small name patch on the chest (not sure of the proper army terms!) - saw someone did this on the sock monkey thread and it looked really good.

    :rotfl:@ Wesker - eeewww!

Well - I bought more socks today. But in my defence they were neon and from Poundland so only spent £2 and got four pairs. :j They will make good monkeys - I hope. :D

Did a four hour first aid course today at my induction which was very good actually. We had to practice CPR on a dummy and it was actually a lot harder than it looks to press down firmly enough. The trainer and rest of my group (all male) were laughing at me cos I was so weak.:rotfl: And that's after a week of shred! We also got to bandage each other which was quite funny. The trainer was bandaging my hand to demonstrate and was complaining that my wrists were too small and it was taking ages to use the whole bandage. :rotfl:

My first shift at actual job (when I'll do on the job training rather than induction) is going to be Wednesday next week so will have a four day weekend. :j:D Bet I'll be working seven days in a row after that though. :rotfl:

Met my mum and sister in town after work and that's when the fateful visit to Poundland occurred. :o My youngest nephew (3) was in the bad books after he shoplifted a packet of sweets and my sister only found out when they fell out of his pocket! She was mortified and not sure what shop he took them from.

Sister is also getting a puppy tomorrow - I think she's mad getting one when she has four young kids but she won't be talked out of it. My mum will probably end up taking it when she can't cope but we'll see.

Sounds like things are going well with the new job and the sock monkey family - I'm liking the sound of the camo and pirate ones - very inventive!

Thanks gilli and mac - need to make a start on the new monkeys soon though, have been too tired after work.

I've sinned and not done shred today as was very tired but then I went to town with being bad and had a curry and beer for dinner. :o Promise I will start again tomorrow. :A

Feeling really tired as not been working for so long but am enjoying getting out and doing things every day. Think the different shifts in this job will suit me more than 9-5.

Might be going to Edinburgh next week to see my friend from uni as she is off work and I can get the train there free now. :j Depends on what she is doing though.

Made a start on the sock monkeys for my twin nieces last night - marked out the socks and sewed one (for the body and legs). Will probably do the other one tonight and then can look at starting arms, tails etc for both monkeys. I'm making twin monkeys as have two pairs of socks the same. :D

Finished my induction today and passed the assessment which was good. Trainer let us away at 2pm as well so a nice early finish and I'm not working until Wednesday now. :j

Did shred when I got home and realised that my shin is probably so sore because it's the same leg that I have a problem knee. A bit worried now as my knee is getting sore and really struggling with the side lunges and lifting weights at the same time on the side with the dodgy knee. :(

Definitely think I'm a bit fitter overall now as not so out of breath or sweaty, although still bright red afterwards. :rotfl: Plus I don't wake up aching all over anymore. Will just need to keep an eye on my knee now. Don't think I'm ready for level 2 though.

No real plans for tonight, just relaxing with the cats and OH I think. :)

Feeling so tired today, think the week is catching up with me. :( Have been extremely lazy and done nothing all day, have even dodged shred again. *slaps wrist*

Did a bit of sewing though so have two twin monkey bodies done and have sewn the tails ready to be cut and stuffed. So just need to cut, sew and stuff arms, ears and face after that, then attach them to the bodies. Will also need to figure out how to do the eyes as can't use buttons for the twins as they're under 3.

Need to go and do food shopping tomorrow and might also pop in to see my sister and her new puppy. The pictures are adorable so I want a cuddle now. She has probably had everyone in the vicinity round at her house wanting to see that puppy. :rotfl:
