Well, we've been running about cleaning and tidying since we got up while waiting for OH's parents to arrive. Oh Joy.

Went to the family do yesterday afternoon and managed to get sunburn on my arms because the weather was so nice. Wasn't wearing sunscreen as didn't expect it to be so hot. Was nice to see everyone and my nieces were lovely in their dresses while my nephews were running about mad. My oldest nephew actually asked me for another cuddle when I was leaving - was quite shocked but thought it was nice since he doesn't really do cuddles now he's at the grand age of 8. :D :rotfl:

Watched Avatar last night and thought it was ok, the effects were great but the plot was a bit rubbish. Managed to predict the whole plot within about 10 mins. :rotfl:

Help me - I can't stand all this "family time".:p OH's parents have only been here since yesterday afternoon and they're already driving me mad!

I like to have some alone time but they're here all the time!! I also feel quite in the way as they want to spend time with OH and I'm part of the package now. (Unfortunately for both them and me). Having to make small talk all the time is exhausting. His mum is ok but a bit much after a while and his dad just doesn't like me. Weird people. They've not been obnoxious so far but generally it's only a matter of time. OH's dad is very opinionated and judgemental and doesn't like anyone disagreeing with him - that would me then. :o Last visit he told me my sister's life was over (at 24) because she has four kids and is on her own!!:eek:

Was seriously considering escape this afternoon, I need to be away from them. They're not leaving until Wednesday.:eek:

    I'm going demented.

I made good my escape today and spent the day at my mum's. Was going mad and just needed to rant about OH's parents!

OH and his dad finished the flooring in the hall by doing the thresholds and finishing off the Scotia whilst his mum scrubbed the bottom of my pans. I made a run for it!

They took us out for dinner which was nice but I'm so glad I had a break from them. :o Was seriously struggling. They are leaving tomorrow - is it bad to use this smilie --> :j

Apart from that, nothing much to report. Still waiting to hear back from interview, have a bad feeling I didn't get it. :(

OH's parents left yesterday morning and we were very glad to have the flat to ourselves again. :j I just have no patience with them after about 24 hours and they even drive OH mad. They want us to go and visit in August. _pale_ I really don't think I could cope with that - our last visit was 3 days and I was demented by the second day. Trying not to think about it just now. :(

Well the car passed its MOT the other day for the first time in 2 years. :j We paid for it from the money we had put by and still have about £100 left to go towards the car tax at the end of the month. I've transferred £75 from my Paypal account to pay off the small amount on OH's cc from finishing off the flooring. Also got £50 cheque through from surveys and am waiting on click money coming through. Will all have to go towards car tax and bills I expect but would like to pay a bit off my Barclaycard as well.

My brother's 18th birthday is at the weekend so helping my mum get organised for that tomorrow. Think we will be making snacks and things and hoping for a nice day to have a barbecue. I'm making chocolate cupcakes instead of a birthday cake and will buy a helium balloon for him as well.

Still not heard back from interview, might give them an email tomorrow and find out what's going on. Feeling quite anxious about not having work and the lack of money now.

    :rotfl:Indeed, scooby!

Managed to get a couple of washings done yesterday and cleaned out the litter tray and bathroom. Made a chicken and onion pie from a recipe stolen from Weezl's meal planner which was very nice. :A Sold a book on GreenMetropolis so posted that as well as some Bookmooch books. Finally wrote another review for Ciao and requested the money I had there as well, only £6.50 but better than nothing.

Will be going round to my mum's soon to help her get organised for my brother's birthday. No doubt I'll be taking her to the supermarket for food first, then helping to make it.

Feeling quite down as still haven't heard back from second interview - I'm assuming I didn't get it. Really need to start applying for other jobs but am struggling with motivation even though I'm worried sick about money. Hate feeling like this.

:D Thanks for your visit Weezl - I'll pop on once I've caught up with the thread.

We spent the afternoon running about getting stuff for my brother's 18th birthday barbecue for my mum. Then when we got back, we were helping to get everything sorted. OH was in charge of the barbecue and I was making frosting for the cupcakes that we set out in the shape of the number 18 and stuck candles in instead of getting a cake. I did one batch of cupcakes yesterday and my mum did another. Made the frosting with butter, icing sugar and Nutella - yum. :D

Had a good time even with several teenagers in the back garden. :p Think my brother enjoyed it, when we left at 9.30pm he couldn't walk straight but was still insisting he was sober. :rotfl:

I was drinking wine and lemonade and also had some gin so wasn't drunk, although I was forgetting words with alarming regularity. :o Think I'm getting old as was ready for a lie down halfway through the day.

The cupcake birthday cake worked well and took a couple of pictures - will post next week when I get a chance.

Slept pretty late today - didn't get up until after 12. Must have needed it though - haven't been sleeping well with OH's cough and him getting up a few times every night. He's now on anti-biotics so getting better. :)

Have been very lazy and cats have been increasingly naughty - tried to eat a banana earlier. Wish I could lock them out of the kitchen but since it's open plan kitchen/living room not much chance of that. OH set up his iphone to record them and see if they did anything naughty. :rotfl:

    Nothing much to report otherwise.

Well I've emailed the HR girl that dealt with my interviews to find out what the outcome is for the second interview. Pretty sure I've not got the beauty job as they would surely have been in touch by now but want to know what happens next i.e. will I be put forward for any other jobs they have. If not, I'm stuffed - job hunting hasn't been going well and really struggling on just OH's wage. :(

I'm trying to keep food bills down by making dinners from things we have in the house instead of just going shopping every week. Am aiming to do a shop every two weeks with small top-ups in between for milk and veg. The cat's food is now included in our shopping bill as we are buying the raw meat from supermarkets and butchers for them. Must remember to ask at the butcher's counters in the supermarkets if they do heart and kidneys as need to get some for the cats.

I'm thinking of trying the onion tart tatin recipe today stolen from Weezl's excellent website here. Looks yummy and I was very pleased with the chicken and onion pie recipe I used last week.

Also here are a couple of pictures of the cupcakes I made for my brother's 18th birthday.
