Thanks saving and gilli - it is hard when nothing is happening on the job front.
Managed to do my housework yesterday so nothing much to do in that respect today except dinner.
My mum wants me to take her shopping (as she doesn't drive) so will have to head out shortly to do that. I suppose it gets me out of the house but can't afford to spend any money.
My mum gave me a basil plant as she had grown two from some seeds she got so I will have to try using some in my cooking. It's still quite small though so will wait until it's a bit bigger I think. Am keeping it in the spare room on the windowsill away from my greedy cats. The breeder we got the older girls from said that the oldest cat will eat things like herbs so we have to keep them away from her.:rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Feeling very tired today and just not good for much.
Was dragged around the shops for about 3 hours yesterday by my mum and she bought me a nice underwear set in Matalan. She bought socks for OH as well which he really needed badly - don't know what he does to his socks to wear them out so much.
OH made dinner last night as I wasn't feeling great, so we had cheese and mushroom omelettes with wedges. Thinking of making chicken casserole with dumplings for dinner tonight.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Well don't think we will be up to much today - OH is feeling very tired and just wants to relax. Just running a bath atm and chilling on the couch with the cats. Having problems getting onto Farmville  I'm far too addicted to it though so maybe not a bad thing.
Paid minimum payment plus an extra £15 to my Barclaycard taking it under £500. :j Once it's paid off we can concentrate on the DMP at roughly £4500 and the Northern Rock loan which is sitting at about £9200.
Still heard nothing about jobs and feeling very frustrated about it all.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Hi sashy
I got so fed up with not being able to get on farmville or bejewelled that I gave up totally a few weeks ago. They should concentrate on getting it to work consistently rather than bringing new stuff out too quickly.
I'm sure a job will turn up soon, but it can be frustrating.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thanks gilli, managed to get back on Farmville but should probably wean myself off it!
Made some coconut bread last night after dinner and it's lovely - a good way to use up the desiccated coconut I've had in my cupboard for literally years! OH made summer fruit muffins with frozen berries which are yum - our boy cat tried to sneak out of the kitchen with one in his mouth while they were cooling.
We watched Eurovision last night and had a laugh, can't believe the Uk was last considering some of the other awful songs! The UK act's backing singers were awful though, really off-key.
Might be going out for lunch with some friends today and OH is making me a roll and sausage just now.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
I used to love Eurovision, but think it was more for Terry Wogan's ramblings than anything else.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi gilli, yes I don't think Graham Norton is anywhere near as funny as Terry Wogan doing the commentary on Eurovision.
OH is working the bank holiday (boo) so should really get down to some job hunting in a bit. Have already put a washing on and have the grill pan soaking in water and biological washing powder to try and shift some of the grease. Seems to be working well so far. :A
Think I will need to go shopping tomorrow for more meat for the cats, still working out how much to buy and how long it will last. Gave them a really big leg and thigh portion of chicken last night and it kept them all occupied for hours.Only problem is the mess they make dragging it about.
Won some money on the Jackpotjoy fishing game again so hoping to pad that when it arrives in my account. :j
Went out with a couple of friends yesterday afternoon to TGI Fridays - I wasn't going to get anything as had had something not long before and it's so expensive in there. I got a drink and my friends very kindly offered to pay for a starter if I wanted, so was greedy and had some potato skins. They weren't very good thoughthey tasted as though they'd been frozen and reheated and were really expensive for what they were. Had a nice time with my friends though.

Had my grill pan soaking for hours yesterday and still had to use an old knife to scrape the burnt on grease off the shelve/rack part. I had very cramped hands, a sore back and a filthy sink by the time I finished but most off it came off and it's very shiny looking now.
OH made homemade burgers for dinner which were very lovely. We have pretty much everything we need for dinners but need to go out soon for some bits and bobs that I've run out of. Also need to get the cats some meat and litter.
My mum wants me to take her to B&Q for paint and gardening things so will probably do that then head out to the supermarket. Will just have to drag her round quickly as she likes to take her time in shops while I like to get in and out as quickly as possible!
Redeemed my Harrispoll points last night but they've changed it so you can only get an Amazon voucher instead of money into your Paypal account. Oh well, shouldn't really complain about a £25 Amazon voucher.:D I think OH has been eyeing up a PS3 game recently so might let him use it towards that.
Also ordered a £10 Halfords voucher from Shop and Scan, nearly have enough to get a new battery for the car. :j After that we need to save some Argos vouchers for a new iron, having reluctantly come to the conclusion that we really should iron stuff. :whistle:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Had an unexpected email today from a company I applied for a few jobs with and they wanted me to do a couple of online assessments. So just completed them - one was arithmetic (timed  only had 15 mins to answer 40 qus and I'm slow and have to write sums out to do them properly) and the other was basic comprehension, so reading a paragraph/memo and answering questions about it.
I think it went ok but just need to keep my fingers crossed and hope it leads to at least an interview. The email I got was very vague and just asked me to complete the tests. *missing shrugging smiley*
But at least it has given me a bit of a boost, think it might have been one of the jobs I was kept on a shortlist for as didn't quite get to interview after the intitial sift. :jSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Had a nice afternoon with my mum yesterday although we only ended up going to do some food shopping and bought cat litter instead of going to B&Q. No doubt I'll have to take her there later in the week though.
Have already cleaned out the litter tray, cleaned the bathroom and put a washing on. The sink in the kitchen seems to be draining very very slowly though which is a bit of a pain - it seems to do this every so often. When I was cleaning the bathroom I accidentally pulled the top of the tap off and had a mini panic. Then put it back on, only it was backwards, hmm. :rotfl: Managed to prise it off again and put it back on the right way in the end though.
Think we will be having trout fillet for dinner again tonight as the freezer is full of them due to OH's mum bringing them up for us on their visit.
Bought more pork chunks and turkey thigh for the cats yesterday and managed to find turkey breast reduced so got that as well. When I got home I divided the packets up into food bags (some thigh and some breast meat in each) and froze them. Managed to get about 6 meals from that. :T Really need to get some sardines for them as they haven't had them for a while and are a good alternative if I've forgotten to defrost the cat's meat in time for breakfast/dinner. *bad cat parent*Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
