Well, just got a call from the HR dept - I didn't get the job. I knew that I messed up the interview and was pretty sure I hadn't got it anyway but still feel cr*p about it.
I'm in their system though so when a full time job comes up I'll be put forward for it but there aren't any full time jobs available just now. They have part-time jobs but don't want to put me forward for them because I put down full time as my preference. God knows when a full time job will come up though.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Thanks psycho, just sick of never getting anywhere - there are hardly any jobs coming up either.
Made Weezl's onion tart tatin and it was lovely.OH asked for more after eating half and looked all disappointed when I said there was nothing left. :rotfl:I think I put a bit too much balsamic vinegar in but that was my fault and not the recipe. I was very pleased with it as it looked quite impressive but was relatively simple. Another recipe I'll be using again. :T
Bought turkey thigh for the cats and OH asked at the butcher's counter in Morrisons and they don't do offal as it doesn't sell. So need to check around to find offal for them - I think the local butcher round the corner sells it so fingers crossed.
Really need to get some housework done today but feeling quite down after not getting another job. Getting so many rejections is knocking my confidence - I've only got to interview stage with two jobs which is pretty bad.I really think my degree isn't doing me any favours as employers seem to think I will just leave and get a "better" job - the graduate manager who interviewed me in my recent second interview asked a lot of questions that led towards this conclusion which I don't think is very fair. If I wanted a so-called "better" job wouldn't I just apply for it?:wall:

I've cleaned the bathroom, cleaned out the litter tray and hung a washing up so far today. Think we will be having cauliflower cheese with potato wedges for dinner as have to use up some cauli before it goes manky.
Last night I made cheese twists with pizza dough and parmesan cheese - very nice and very easy. Just need to refine it to make thinner twists so they will be a bit crunchier next time. We also had baked camembert and some of the bread I made.
Still feeling down about the job situation and really think I need a bit of a kick up the bum. I have no confidence when applying for jobs now and just think I won't get the job anyway.Hate feeling like this and wish I was a more confident person.
Poor OH is the one I feel sorry for as he hs to put up with me. We are managing without my wage - just- but we have been getting payouts from surveys etc and selling on ebay just to live which isn't much use.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Sashy I can totally understand how down you must be feeling, but try to stay positive. Something will come up for you :grouphug::eek:CCs[STRIKE] £46287.82[/STRIKE] £40071.74 13% DFD Feb17nowNov[STRIKE]16[/STRIKE]15

Thanks scooby, just feeling sorry for myself and really need to make myself apply for things. Doesn't help that I'm prone to depression and in a bit of a slump now.
Think I will go round and see my mum as she's not working today and is a bit bored (me too). Don't think there's anything I desperately need to do today - have already done a washing and hung it up.
I want to make some brownies from the Hummingbird bakery book before I take it back to the library next week. Need some butter and eggs though, might buy them later. Feeling very lazy today which isn't good. It's very clammy here and warm enough to go out with just a cardigan - unfortunately it's also very grey and cloudy.
My little boy cat escaped the living room (where the cats stay) this morning and hid under my bed. He's daft as a brush so when I shout on him and pat the bed he will come out and jump up for a cuddle - and then I can catch him and put him back in the living room - he still hasn't twigged that coming out for a cuddle results in being caught. :rotfl:
Just got another bill from the factors for £100. Where are we going to find the money for it? We still have the bl**dy car tax to pay for at the end of the month which is £200. :mad:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Made some brownies last night and they were so yummy - nice and chewy in the middle - definitely the best recipe I've tried. :j
OH managed to sell some things on ebay and that will help us pay the car tax and unexpected factor bill. We did have about £100 saved towards the car tax from when I was working thankfully.
Don't think I will be doing much today and am still feeling very tired and down. Not much else to report really.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Had pan-fried trout for dinner last night with mashed potatoes which was actually very nice. I'm always nervous of fish as I don't like seafood much but OH's parents brought us up about 8 trout fillets so thought we should try them. Nice cheap dinner then and still have at least 6 fillets left.:j
Lovely day here today, wish we had a garden to sit out in but only have a patch of grass looking out onto the parking spaces for the flats. :rotfl:
We need to go to Makro for olive oil (buy it in the big tins as it works out cheaper in the long run) and tonic water for our gin. Should be able to pay for it with money made from surveys and clicks. OH could really do with a lighter jacket as the weather is getting nicer and he can't wear his coat to work now.
Got up this morning to find cat poo all over the living room floor. _pale_ Our nervous cat has problems sometimes and does this and drags it everywhere - pretty horrible on a cream carpet. So that was a lovely start to the morning. _pale_
Doubt we will be up to much else - although we do need to go out and buy meat for the cats as well as running low. Still experimenting with it but have been weighing them to make sure they're not losing weight. Our skinny nervous cat has actually put on a bit of weight which is good - I'm always worried that she's too thin as you can feel her wee bones. She's been like that ever since we got her (3 years) and the vet said she is the right weight but I still worry.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Managed to find lamb heart and kidneys for the cats in Makro for a reasonable price so am quite pleased with that. :j The cats wolfed it down as well for their dinner. Also bought frozen chunks of pork and lamb from Asda for them, so now have lamb heart and kidney, chicken livers, chicken legs and thighs and pork and lamb chunks in the freezer for them - they have their own freezer drawer.
OH managed to get a light waterproof Trespass jacket in TK Maxx for £19 which was quite bargainous. :j
Bought an ironing board from Argos as we've never had oneand had a £10 gift voucher. It was £14.99 so only paid £4.99 and it's cow print as seen here - OH's choice.:rotfl: Need to save up some vouchers for a new iron now as the one we have is rubbish - not that I actually iron anyway. Non-iron clothing is my friend.
Very warm and suffering a bit as we are in a top floor flat - have all the windows open but there isn't much of a breeze. Cats are just flaked out with the heat.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200.
