I've been so lazy today and have done nothing. Didn't sleep too well as OH was up and down with a cough and sore throat. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed and not sure how I got there. OH said he got up and I moved over and when he tried to get back to his side I shouted at him and pushed him.:o So he just went to sleep on my side of the bed. :o I must have been asleep as really don't remember that!

OH made some rocky road fridge cake today yum. It's setting in the fridge now but looking forward to trying some later. Was totally shocked at the amount of chocolate and sweets in the recipe from the Hummingbird Bakery book I got from the library. Sit down now - 1.4kg of chocolate, 8 mars bars, maltesers and marshmallows. We used 5 mars bars and it was more than enough. I'm scared to think how much fat and sugar is in it. Won't stop me eating it though. :o

Really need to get some shredding done and really should have done some tidying as well.

Didn't sleep well again due to OH being up and down so feeling quite yuck today. Got up about 9am and did some Pilates but it didn't really wake me up.

Need to empty the fridge and freezer and give them a good clean. Also have to empty and clean the bin - oh joy. Am sure there are lots of jobs that need doing before OH's parents descend on us next Sunday. I did some shredding last night and need to do some filing today.

Need to psyche myself up for the second interview on Friday as I really want this job and I need to get it or we are seriously screwed. Just hoping that the department manager likes me. I don't know how many other people from my assessment they've asked to second interview though. OH seems to think it's a foregone conclusion that I will get it but I'm not so confident.

So worrying about the actual interview and what to wear - I'm assuming I will have to look good as it's for the Beauty department. My skin has been really dry the last month or so and my usual foundation looks rubbish because it goes powdery and sticks to the dry skin. :( I think I'll need to buy a new foundation but not sure what to get and always find it hard to get a colour that matches my skin tone - don't want to look orange. Also don't want to look too pale though!

Just tried a bit of OH's rocky road tray bake and it's lovely but very heavy so can't eat much at a time (probably a good thing!).

Ok, have cleaned the fridge and freezer inside and thrown out anything suspect. Cut up the rocky road tray bake and stored it - there was too much for my cake tin so it's in three separate containers!

Also cleaned the oven but think I will need something strong to clean my grill as it's disgusting and washing it doesn't seem to shift much. Emptied and cleaned the bin and took two full bags down to the black bin. Tidied up the kitchen and swept the floor.

Stuck all my manky cloths and dishtowels in the wash and just need to hang them up.

Kitchen is looking a lot better and I'm glad I got some of it done. Managed to file some paperwork as well which makes the coffee table clearer. Could do with washing and wiping my mirrored wardrobes (fingerprints ) and the glass panels next to my living room door (cats noses pressed against them = dirty marks) but may leave that until tomorrow. Bathroom could also do with a clean (as ever).

Thinking of gnocchi for dinner but not sure what sauce to make with it, will have to consult the master chef (OH likes to think he is the head chef in this house :rotfl:).

Tried to log into my IPSOS account the other day and it said my account was inactive so I emailed them about it. Just got an email back saying there were "discrepancies" in my answers so they booted me off the panel without telling me! They did the same to OH a couple of years ago - oh well, didn't get that many surveys from them anyway. Glad I'd cashed in my points a couple of weeks ago and got the voucher before they booted me off though.

Hi Sashy, I suffer from dry skin sometimes and often find if I start using facial scrub, then lather on the moisturiser as a mask going to bed, I wake up with lovely soft skin! Think you can make a DIY scrub with something like rock salt and cleansing cream?

Be positive about Friday, they wouldn't have called you back if you didn't have a chance. I know what you mean - I don't like counting my chickens, but try imagining yourself in the job and have a PMA all the way :)

Im make a rocky road fridge cake and it is really nice - its Nigella's recipe mmmmmm.

As for the interview, go knock them dead! Be yourself and you will show them you are confident and got what they are looking for :)

Thanks mac, I will try a scrub. My skin has just gone a bit haywire and not even sure what moisturiser is best atm. Using some Botanics stuff that is a bit heavier than I would normally use, will see how it goes. I have tried a bit of oil cleansing but think it might be making my skin worse.

Thanks for the interview advice, you're right I obviously did something right at the assessment so just need to make a good impression on this manager and stay positive. Easier said than done when a worrier!

Hi saving, always nice to see a new face on my diary. :j Yes rocky road is lovely, probably dangerous to look at Nigella's recipe though!

Thanks for advice about interview, I'm just a born worrier - I know I can do the job and do it well. I just really need this and panicking incase it doesn't go to plan. :o Plus I know OH's mum and dad will be on my back about not having a job as soon as humanly possible when they arrive on Sunday. :wall:

Well, got the litter tray emptied and cleaned and cleaned the bathroom today. Have been feeling very tired as OH still up and down and we had a bit of an argument at bedtime as well which didn't help. OH always goes off in a huff to sleep on the couch but soon gets annoyed by the cats walking all over him. :rotfl:

Think I might need a new shirt for my interview as only have one and it sits funny. Have never really needed business wear for any jobs so will need to go out and have a look for something nice and smart. Was thinking of looking in Matalan tomorrow, there's also a TK Maxx and an Asda nearby. Another thing I could do with is a pair of smart shoes that are comfortable but will only buy some if they fit well and aren't too expensive. My smartest pair of shoes are flat leather pumps that are quite wrecked but look ok with some polish - wore them to first assessment so could wear them again.

Will just have to be strict with myself tomorrow as don't have a lot of money. I go through phases of being really good and then I just want to go out and spend even though we can't afford it and I don't need the stuff I want anyway.

Watching Pineapple Dance Studios and laughing - some of them are just deluded! :rotfl:

  • Hi Sashy, I needed a smart blouse/shirt a while ago and managed to get one for about £4 ish from Asda. It wasnt the best thing ever but it fit fine and would serve its purpose for just one day. Dorothy Perkins usually have shirts/blouses for under a tenner to and they are quite nice.

Thanks saving, I decided to look through my wardrobe before going shopping and found a plain black top that will look ok with a smart skirt and cardigan. So going to be good and stay away from the shops. My wrecked shoes will do for a bit longer as long as they're polished - the worn away bits are on the bottom anyway, just hope it doesn't rain! I find it so difficult to find shoes that fit as my toes are broad and my heel is narrow. Going to the library later to satisfy my urge to get things!

Will need to do some company research later and think about what I'm likely to be asked in my interview and what I can say that will sound good. I know I can do the job but just feel so nervous as really want the job.

I think my friend will be coming with me to the library so some company will be good to take my mind off things for a bit. Need to remember and buy some milk as well.

Just listening to the first Ash album I owned (1977) on Spotify - the soundtrack to many a teenage tantrum. :rotfl:i.e. "I hate you!" *door slam* *very loud music put on* I was an evil teenager, my poor mum. She couldn't get me to leave the house for several years and couldn't get my sister to stay in. :rotfl:
