Thanks psycho . Feeling relieved that I passed the assessment and *should* get a job there once they find a role for me. :j Don't want to count my chickens though.
Going out today to help my uncle with his freelance work so that should be interesting. Don't know how much we will be doing though as it looks like rain and it's video work. Hmm, but it will probably be indoors.
Didn't get a lot of cleaning done yesterday as sat down with my cupcake and bakery books and drooled over the lovely pictures.Did clean the bathroom, put on a washing, make dinner and try banana bread in the bread maker which was surprisingly nice.
Tried the cats with prawns yesterday as treats and they went crazy for them. So that's another thing we know they like! My youngest cat wanted some banana bread too and kept trying to paw the plate the slices were on. Oldest cat just hoovered up any stray crumbs (as she always does).
So the list of food the cats like so far - chicken legs/thighs (uncooked), chicken livers, sardines (in spring water), prawns and tuna. The last three more as treats rather than regularly. They are eating the last of the Prizechoice mince but it's horrible and I'm throwing out the last few packets of beef because they hate it. Tried them with nature's menu chunks and they quite like them as well. Will need to look around for other meats and fish for them to try.

Hi Sashy
well done on getting the 2nd interview :T:T:T
Flooring looks lovely too:T
I've noticed you mentioning your cats and their food a couple of times - did you use to use food4cats?? I used to use their food4dogs site too, was absolutely fuming when they sent an email couple of days before they stopped trading!! But I went on their website yesterday and it seems to be up and running again, although I didn't try to order anything.
Have since been using Durham Animal Feeds (DAF) for my mutleys and the dogs seem to like it. Not sure if they do for cats but can't see why not and the guy who I spoke to was really helpful - think he was called Lee - my memory is terribleAnyway they have their own website if you want to have a look.
Have you tried the cats with lamb's heart or kidneys?? I know cats need taurin (sp?) in their diet which heart is supposed to have a lot of.

Hi Green, thanks.
Yes I used food4cats, we were really left in the lurch when they sent that email! I checked the website the other day too - don't know what's going on there.
We bought Prizechoice stuff on recommendation from the owner as they sent a list of other websites and it's awful. It doesn't look, feel or smell like proper meat and the cats don't like it at all. Won't be buying it again.
Thanks for the recommendation, will definitely check it out. Not tried lamb with them as not sure if they will like it but will give it a go. Got them prawns cos they're meant to have a lot of taurine too.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Well done on getting through the assessment stage, looks like you may have something soon.
Have you looked on the OS board for ideas for your cats. I know there are a few people on the frugal living challenge that make a rice and chicken thing which apparently goes down well. I know cats can be a bit fussy though.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi gilly, thanks for the idea, will look on the OS board. My cats aren't really all that fussy, the Prizechoice stuff is the only thing I've tried with them that they really don't like and they will still try and eat it if they're hungry. Bunch of greedy beggars my cats.
Off to meet my mum and sister soon, we're going to have a wander about town and then go for lunch. My sister doesn't have any of her four kids with her today which is the first time in ages, so should be fun.
Still have lots of housework I *should* be doing but will try and do it tomorrow. OH's parents are coming for a visit next Sunday for a couple of days. _pale_ They're staying in a hotel thankfully but it's only across the road so no doubt they will be round ours pretty much all day every day. I'm planning on running away.
OH's mum will no doubt want to do my housework for me and his dad will be inspecting everything. They mean well (most of the time) but they're very blunt and have never been my biggest fans. Just need to keep my mouth shut. :silenced:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Had a long day yesterday shopping with my mum and sister. I only spent about a tenner - bought some pyjamas in Primark and on my bus fare. My mum paid for lunch which was good of her. Was severely tempted to buy myself a new perfume as found one that's lovely - Anna Sui Dolly Girl Bonjour L'Amour - long name! I didn't buy it but still really want it.
OH said I can get it when I get a job offer.
Think OH is going to pick up the M&S meal deal again tonight with our last £10 voucher. At least it won't cost any money.
Feeling knackered after being out a couple of days in a row - going back to work is going to be agony for the first week. It's nice not to have to go to work every day but I do miss seeing people - and the wages of course! Just have to hope I get a job through the second interview next week.

Didn't get much done yesterday, was just reading and lazing about. My friend came round for a couple of hours and brought doughnuts - yum. Unfortunately the cats also wanted some.
They are so badly behaved when people are eating.
OH and I had a bit of a discussion (i.e. argument) about the MacBook. I said no as we could use the money for other things. OH wanted to save up for it but I said we could save up for something more useful. He then gave in about the MacBook but started on about saving up for laser eye surgery for me. Again I said we could use the money for other things but he wouldn't budge so now he is saving any spare money towards that. I'm still using any extra money I make through clicks, surveys etc to pay off debt though.
Think we will need to do a food shop today and look for more cat friendly meat as we don't have much just now. Also need to do glass and paper recycling. Nothing too exciting then.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Going to do some Pilates in a minute - really need to get back into a routine of doing it everyday as it helps my bad knee and my back.
Found some pig's liver and lamb's liver in Asda yesterday for the cats, so will try that with them. Also got some frozen pork chunks which they seem to quite like. Went to Pets at Home to buy some litter and some frozen dog chunks that the cats like - weirdos.A greyhound rescue was there with a couple of greyhounds and whippets. Aww, they were sooo cute! I love greyhounds and whippets, they're so tall and gangly and they wear jackets. I want one! Don't think OH would be keen though.
He says they're not cat friendly.
I feel so sorry for the retired racers though.
OH bought some sea bass yesterday so will be baking them tonight for me. Might make some cupcakes today as need to practice so I can make nice ones for my brother's birthday in a couple of weeks.
Doubt we will be up to much otherwise though. Cats are snoozing on my knee and making it difficult to move, they are so cute when they're sleeping. Although they are very naughty - a croissant was stolen yesterday from the worktop. Also just been clawed as one of them nearly fell off my knee - they really need their claws cut. :mad:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Is there a job as a cupcake tester going? I'll test them for you.
Have you got nice wrappers for them or are you just leaving them as they are? I got some nice wrappers for Christmas cupcakes which looked really impressive.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi gilly, :rotfl: you would have to beat my OH to it to be the cupcake tester! Made lemon ones with lemon frosting which was very sweet so might tone down the sugar a bit. They didn't rise as well as I would like so need to experiment with oven temperature and timing as well.
I've not got wrappers but was thinking of getting some to make them look better. Wanted to make enough to make a giant 18 out of cupcakes instead of a birthday cake.
Not sure what flavour to make but chocolate hazelnut sounds nice - just chocolate cupcakes with some nutella in the middle and nutella flavour frosting. :drool:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
