Well only 50% success with this weekend's efforts!
The Gary Rhodes lasagne turned out lovely if a bit of a faff, I ate 1 portion last night and froze 7 more.......that'll save me making it again for a while
.
The roasted red pepper & tomato soup was very easy and I used HM chicken stock but unfortunately was too liberal with the chilli and it's HOT  but I will eat it, I will.............! I would make it again but without the chilli as was too overpowering.
Hey ho 1 out of 2 isn't too bad!
Freezer is now so full won't need to cook again for about 2 weeks :rotfl:but will have a think what to try next.
Glad to see a few more folk joining in too.0 -

Could you add some double/sour cream or natural yoghurt to the soup. Chilli intensifies over time so it could get very strong! Sounds delicious thoughDecember GC £23.43/120 :T
Nationwide Overdraft £1136, Natwest Overdraft £1800(interest free), Natwest Credit Card £155/£350
Aim to clear overdrafts by Summer 2010
Saving for Elective £0 so far!0 -
Or for the soup what about making another batch without chilli and mixing the 2, to halve the intensity.0

Some nice ideas here to try! The cuury wasn't a 100% success last night, think I simmered for too long as there wasn't enough sauce, and slightly too much yoghurt. But I had fun making it!
Freakyogre, is there any chance I could have the recipe for Thai chicken cakes with sweet chilli sauce please? They sound yum!0 -
Patchwork Cat - Good thinking on mixing two batches, one without to the one with..........definitely will try that as apart from the strong chilli, really liked the recipe. They were my homegrown chillis which I froze as there were so many and this is the first time I have used in anything other than curry - obviously they are pretty strong
Oneeyedandgreen - Had thought the addition of cream or yoghurt might tone it down a bit so will try that with the batch I have left out for my tea tonight.
Thanks
Edited to add: Tried the addition of cream and certainly toned it down a bit........still nice and warming on a cold night0 -

You're braver than me, i've still yet to make my own curry despite buying all the spices!
The recipe is here (surprise surprise!) I am trying to use the recipes i've collected at home for this challenge, but I almost always end up going back to good old bbcgoodfood instead.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Well yesterday I cooked pheasant breast for the first time. Just dusted in seasoned flour and fried in butter. Served it with mash and spring greens.
I am setting myself a task at the weekend and am going to batch cook some tomato sauce using a recipe in this months good food magazine. I've virtually stopped using jars of sauce at home but sometime the lazy bug hits me. Hopefully having this pre made will help.2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback

Tonight I made something from one of my cookbooks, following recipe pretty exactly(which I usually don't do-subbed cider vinegar for sherry vinegar) and it was delicious
We had roast skate wing with chilli beans from page 127 of Rick Stein's Coast to coast with a side of roast spuds. I don't have a link as its not online, but it was pretty simple and I would recommend. very yum.0 -
