Trying to run down stocks a little and save some grocery money, so made this yesterday with store cupboard stocks and some wilting veg. Served it with steamed veg, roast potatoes and gravy. Suited our mainly vegan household. It did taste better than it looked!http://thesimpleveganista.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/the-ultimate-vegetable-lentil-loaf.html

I substituted plain flour for oat flour, and skipped chipotle pepper because I didn't have any, nor do I really know what it is - does anyone?

Another new recipe for our household - Vegan winter vegetable tagine, following rather loosely this recipe...http://www.greenkitchenstories.com/moroccan-vegetable-tagine/

I didn't have fresh veg, but did have a casserole mix of frozen veg so used that instead. I did not have harrissa, but one of my kids can't eat chilli anyways so I left that out. Did not have apricots so substituted chopped dried prunes. The real test will be how the carnivore brother, and hard to impress teenagers respond - if they eat it, it will be judged a success. Will report back.

    Later...

Well, was a success, they all ate it though I think perhaps next time I will not add swede.
