My week got off to a good-ish start, the Physio discharged me with strict instructions to carry on with the exercises if I want to avoid any more problems in the future and I have got my cushion cover project off the ground, I’m not calling it a business yet as I doubt that anyone will even buy them let alone make enough to qualify for tax purposes but we’ll see.

DS is at a friends house today and he won’t be back until about 6pm so only DD to deal with and she’s fairly laid back (must be a girl thing lol)

I need to get some more of my list done today and get my overlocker up and running and get the first batch of cushions made.

I need to nip to Tesco’s to get a few bits, milk and yogurts but I don’t need anything else so am going to resist the urge to look around whilst I am there.

I have had a look at the Flylady thread for this week and my house is no where need where I can get to do that this week, so I’m just going to plod along at the moment and join and when I feel I can.

Lula, Taxi, Jo_R and the lurkers – Thanks for the support and motivation you give me :A

  • Morning everyone, nearly weekend :D It’s DH’s birthday on Sunday and the present we ordered for him won’t arrive until the first week of February pah! Good job I managed to get him a few bits to go with it that he can open.

Managed to get a few cushion covers made on Tuesday but the overlocker decided not to work yesterday and thus has to go back to the factory to be looked at by an engineer :(

Good news: I sold a book on Amazon and managed to withdraw £3 from Lightspeed.

Today’s plan is to de-clutter the kitchen totally, it is one of the smallest rooms in our house and yet everything gets dumped on the worktops.

On the NSD front, yesterday and today were ones; nothing will get spent as we don’t need anything.

We had the meters read yesterday; I am dreading the bill coming through and may need to look at changing suppliers.

Have a good day everyone :)

Lula – Didn’t get chance to reply to you, sorry. Haven’t got the cushion covers photographed yet but when I do I will try and get a pic up on here for you to see :)

So today is the beginning of February and for some the start of a new chapter, for me the start of a new month and a renewed attempt at debt busting *rolls eyes*

I didn’t get to complete my entire list for January; I think that there were about two items that I didn’t finish in the end; never mind, no point dwelling need to focus on this month. Plan is as follows:
    • Get on top of the ironing and get rid of the hideous pile (renewed) - Done
    • Get DD’s curtain track put up :o - Done
    • Clean the fridge - Done
    • Clean the kitchen floor – this needs a scrub as it’s not been done properly for months - Done
    • Meal plan – this was achieved for the latter part of January so I know I can do this one :D - Done
    • Aim to have 15 NSD’s – achieved in January but hope to get more this month
    • Keep up with the surveys
    • Declutter book case and unit and dump/put in attic - Done
    • Have a look at the Flylady thread – Done, joined for this week
    • Go through finances again once DH has been paid. - Done
This month is supposed to be a short month and my first week is already chock a block with various activities going on with the kids; just hope the rest of the month goes equally as fast lol :rotfl:

I have a whole 86p to come from Quidco and £1.41 to arrive from Amazon.

DS is climbing again tonight, it cost £1 for a coffee there so might take a flask of coffee with me instead as I tend to have two when I’m there.

On the NSD front of things I have worked out that I should theoretically be able to get 15 NSD’s however I know that the schools break up for a week for half term part way through the month, so I need to do various free activities to keep the monsters amused that week…all ideas on a post card please :)

Wipe table and replace cloth if necessary

    Extras

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, not a lot to report on the money side of things; I managed to have a NSD yesterday and today will be one. I need to nip to the bank and pick up a prescription for DH and get some petrol, the spends are accounted for in the budget so don’t count.

I am enjoying the Flylady thread, they seem to be a nice bunch of people over there and made a difference joining in yesterday rather than just lurking.

Tuesday ~ Living room/family room or other reception room!
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Declutter and vacuum the floors![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean out the fire place.. vacuum dust and fluff and soot.. if you burn wood your chimneys may need sweeping![/STRIKE] – Haven’t got one
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Vacuum under furniture you can safely move![/STRIKE] – Did this last week
[STRIKE]Dust and deweb.. make sure you do light fittings and bulbs! do picture rails and coving too if you possess it![/STRIKE]
Clean the sofas.. vacuum under/between/backs cushions.. turn them over for even wear if possible.
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wipe over all the fluffy electricals.. don't electrocute yourself please!![/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Wipe and water the plants[/STRIKE] – Haven’t got any
    [STRIKE]Wipe grubby paintwork/[/STRIKE]

    Extras
    1. Finish/do a small DIY job - Looked but can't find one
    2. Wash any soft furnishings that are ickified
    3. Clean out a cupboard.. any cupboard
    4. [STRIKE]Wash those misty windows![/STRIKE]Did last week
Extras for me should I manage the other lot:
    • [STRIKE]Change kids beds[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Make lasagne for dinner[/STRIKE]
    • Bin bag fling and empty kitchen bin
    • [STRIKE]Dump to get rid of cardboard[/STRIKE]
    • HHE for my back
    Have a good day everyone.

Even I manage to do some of the flylady list most of the time - and it really has made a difference to me over recent months. When I am working, I obviously don't do everything every day, but it is still a whole lot better than it was before, and they are a really nice bunch of peeps over there! I am sure you will get on just fine!

  • Well just had two major shocks since the postman arrived.

First is that DH's employers are reducing his salary to avoid making redunadancies...this will leave us approximately £600 per month worse off.

Second is that we've just got the gas/electric bill £507!!!!! I am going to look at changing suppliers as this is ridiculous.

I've since lost all motivation to do any Flylady stuff now too.
