Head teacher said 'no'....oh well,it was worth asking. We think part of it is because DD can't speak properly or it's because with both our kids we speak our mind to the Head and the Teachers.
Another lot of washing is in the washer and another load in the drier. I aiming to get it all done tonight and then tomorrow I can sort it out in to ironing/non iron. I'm aiming to clear the dining room tomorrow too and get the bits put away that have been hanging around, the overlock is going in the loft as well as the remainder of the fabric.
Need to brainstorm a few money making ideas to see us through the next few months, I should get my bum in gear and get the surveys back up to scratch again but I definately must explore e-bay and get rid of some clothes on there.0 -
Bit of an interesting night last night, DH got his car insurance renewal documents through the other day and me being me took control and using Quidco managed to find him a much better deal, funnily enough with the insurers my car’s with. Anyhow to cut a long story short we’ve paid £616.80 on the credit card from renewal, my NCB will be protected from May next year for £108.78 and I need to pay £104.87 in May to cover me up to September when I will then join DH on the multi-car policy.
In short we’ve not got his car insurance to pay for a year, so that’ll give me chance to save up for the other bits AND one of DH’s credit cards is offering 0% interest until September 2011 if he uses their card, so we are going to balance transfer as Virgin’s interest is outrageous.
I need to play about with the finances again to see where we are at and what I can plough on to different things to get rid and to hopefully save towards next years insurances.
I confess that I have been trying the ‘Cosmic Forces’ thingy and asking for help with our situation and I’m hoping that this was a bit of help from ‘them’, wonder if I can ask for a windfall too? :rotfl:
Managed to clear a bit more of the dining room last night but there is still a lot to get rid of and the last of the washing went in the tumble drier so I’m finally on top of that.
I am going to go and have a word with the mortgage people today and get some information on over paying the loan.
Things may just be going our way….just hope we don’t mess it up!

Well haven't done all of my list today, I want to at least get the bathroom clean today but the washing up is done and dinner is sorted for tonight.
Went in and saw the mortgage people and we have to fill in a form in order for any overpayments to go ahead; I mentioned it to Dh and he says that we aren't financially secure enough to make any overpayments. So I need to discuss with DH and hope he sees my way of thinking.0 -
Morning Diarists and lurkers, Payday for me today and a bit disappointed as I didn’t get paid as much as I thought but can’t do anything until I get my payslip so I can check it.
So even though a bit helps we are still in the Poo; some payments have come out which I completely forgot about and I still need to get my car tax, so need to go to Post Office this morning to get it and nip to Tesco’s to get a few bits.
Next month has got to be better than this because at the moment I’m not impressed.0 -
payday is good but yuck to not getting as much as expected0

Well we made it to October and 14 days until DH gets paid, which can’t come soon enough. Looking at the finances we are still in the carp unless a miracle happens, it doesn’t help matters that we’d have been okay-ish if DH had been paid his Mileage.
May have to borrow some from somewhere to tide us over until payday. DH is supposed to be in Norwich next week from Wednesday, but the site in London needs him so there is a battle between Site Managers at the moment as to who is going to get him. The ultimate decision belongs to one of the ‘big’ bosses, so DH reckons he’ll be in London all week, which will save some money as DH isn’t paying out for a hotel room/food and drink and petrol.
Fairly quiet month this month, we’ve got two birthdays and my mum is coming down to visit complete with goodies
She does spoil us! Half Term is also towards the end of this month and we are also supposed to be staying in Norwich with DH then too.
Good news is that DD gets to stay for lunch at school after Half Term, so theoretically I only need to sort out three weeks worth of lunches for DD.
Right off to get motivated and hopefully get something done today.0 -
A quick update before the weekend as I doubt that I’ll get chance over the weekend.
Finally received my payslip
and the reason why I didn’t get as much as anticipated was because they’d taxed me and taken out for the pension. I’d opted out of the pension as it’s not worth it for the amount I earn a month to what they take out also they’d taken tax out as they have me on basic rate code. I’ve two addresses to send various bits off and should get them back in October’s payslip.
Heard from DH and he’s given me the details of his expenses for the month, I reminded him to tell Payroll not to forget his Mileage owed from last month and apparently his boss has already had a word…so we’ll see what happens on that side when pay day comes around.
Spoken to my mum and she’s got my ‘shopping list’ for the bits I would like when she comes down to visit. She sounded really excited on the phone and to be honest I too am looking forward to her visit, I’ve missed her.
Busy weekend a head because on Saturday DD has a birthday party and on Sunday DS has a new climbing club to go to at the climbing place we go.
Have fun everyone and I hope you all manage to have a good weekend.0 -

Boo to your pay getting messed up but good that it should be easily sorted out.
