  • It’s Friday!!!! What a long week this has been. I’ve noticed that it’s a lot darker in the mornings now…a sure sign that we are heading fast into winter.

My boss rang me yesterday and asked me to go into work an hour earlier today, the school where I work has the older kids section based round the corner to the one where I am based and she wants me to help out there as someone is off ill. Anyhow I’ll get paid an extra hour for today so it all helps.

Have checked online banking and there’s nothing exciting to report there. The housework will have to wait today until this afternoon.

Lula – Thanks, I’m feeling a lot more positive about things at the moment, I try not to let DH worry about things money wise which at the moment doesn’t work so if I can make slight changes and it pays off it’s definitely worth trying. As for Christmas…hmmmm I’ve got a few bits sorted but still need lots more. Hope your back’s a bit better??

Taxi – I know what you mean regarding the interest, it can be ridiculous just hope my plan works. Hope you’re feeling okay??

Monday again! This weekend has flown by. I went to my friend’s 30th birthday party on Saturday, spent too much and had a hangover to suit but did enjoy it and think that a blast once in a while is good for you…well that’s my excuse anyway. The downside of this weekend is that my other friend’s mum died on Friday, she’d been battling with Cancer for a while now and she was hospitalised and took a sudden turn for the worst :( I’ve told my friend I’m here if she wants to chat but doubt that there’s much else I can do. A mix bag this weekend all in all.

Anyway on to today, DH has left this morning for Norwich for the majority of this week, he’s due home on Thursday and Climbing Club is this afternoon.

Now I have got the financial side of things sorted and written down I need to get the house side of things sorted too and where I want to be on the house side of things. We have far too much clutter and this house isn’t exactly big, it’s a 1930’s semi-detached and I’m sure when they built it storage wasn’t an option then. We are desperate to move to something bigger but until we: A, get the finances sorted B, get rid of the clutter and C, decorate - we are stuck where we are for the time being.

So my list of chores for this week looks like this:
    • [STRIKE]Washing - 2 load done, 1 in washer and 1 left to do[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Change beds[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Clean bathroom[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Hoover through[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Clean glass[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Sort out DS’s bedroom[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Ironing[/STRIKE]
    • Tidy up dining room - one bit left to sort
    • [STRIKE]Wash floors in kitchen, bathroom and DD’s room[/STRIKE]
    • Shopping delivery on Friday
    • Pay day on Friday so can sort finances out again for the month
    • Walk to school and back as much as possible - in hand
    • As many NSD’s as possible this week - working on
That should keep me going for a while although not much is going to get done today, Monday’s are always hectic with work and climbing club but I can get some of it sorted this evening. I think that I might even attempt the ironing :shhh: this evening once the kids are in bed, I could always put on a trashy film or see if House recorded last night and watch that instead.

Off to get sorted and try to get some of the washing up done, I can put toilet cleaner down the loo just before I take the kids to school and clean the bathroom when I get back.

I will be organised this week or I’ll die trying.
  • Okay so looking at my list this morning, I have washed up and cleaned the bathroom and walked the kids to school. There is one load in the washer that's nearly finished too, I have made up sandwiches and snacks for the kids in the car later and I have got the climbing stuff sorted too.

Today will be a NSD for me.

I'm itching to get some more stuff sorted this morning but am not going to have time, will do a bit more before I get DS from school later.

    Have fun! x

Morning world! My back is playing havoc this morning, I don’t think it likes the change in the weather  thankfully it hasn’t decided to seize up yet like it did last year but I have taken some Nurofen Plus to ease it. I cannot afford to be ill; I have too much going on and too much to do.

Not quite a NSD for me :o however it was a low spend one. DD was promised for months that if she got to the top of a climb at the wall that she would get her own chalk bag; DD did last night manage to get her own chalk bag and chalk at a cost of £15.00 but she did deserve it, the girl did well :T

I did attempt the ironing last night but don’t tell anyone, I got half of what was in the basket done, I’ve still got some washing to finish so no doubt there will be more today.

My chores for today look like this:
    • [STRIKE]Wash up[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Change kids beds - Beds stripped[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Hoover downstairs[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Washing - [STRIKE]last load in washer now[/STRIKE] - found some more (I think it's breeding!)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Finish ironing[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Tesco’s for a few bits[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Work[/STRIKE]
Now depending on the laundry situation today I intend to finish sorting the Dining Room out.

Today I need to spend money on the following:
    • [STRIKE]Petrol, need enough to last me until Friday[/STRIKE] - spent £20 hope it lasts me
    • [STRIKE]Tesco’s – I need yogurts, milk and something for me for dinner[/STRIKE] - Spent £6.76 in total
So although not quite a NSD today I’m not wasting the money I have, I need to get stuff.

DH is due to be away for the week in Norwich soon, that week I’m planning on an e-bay week and seeing how much tat I get rid off. I’ve so much stuff that I’m sure some of it will sell.

Anyway on to today and I’d better get motivated and get dressed and get the kids ready for school.
  • Unusual for me to post in the evening but I have been looking through my old diaries on here and okay some things may have changed but on the overall side of things not much has in terms of debt despite cutting back and paying off other things.

I think most of the problem is that we got stagnated and thought ‘to heck with it we are in debt and there’s no way out’ in parts and then there’s the other parts where we’ve thought ‘okay we must get out of this’ and we’ve been fluctuating between the two thoughts ever since. No wonder we aren’t clear yet! The Loan on top of the mortgage has helped so I don’t regret us doing it but part of me wishes that we’d increased what we’d borrowed to clear the overdraft too!

I do believe that I may be having some sort of breakthrough and seeing the light so to speak.

It hasn’t helped that DH has been commuting to and staying in Norwich since May as this has increased our budget severely along with all the other bits and pieces associated with this year.

Perhaps this is me just taking stock of the situation as I seem to have been doing for the past two weeks either that or my one beer has just frazzled my brain. I will try to stick to my plan that I posted the other day as I believe that it may help even if we try it for a year and see what the difference is at the end of the year.

An update on today, managed to get the majority of my chores done, I should really finish the ironing but I just can’t be bothered tonight, I think I need an early night. I think I’ll have a nice hot shower shortly and curl up in my dressing gown.

My Avon order came today, so that’s some Christmas presents bought £43 spent.

DD’s speech therapist is coming tomorrow afternoon before the school run; poor woman has been having a hell of a time trying to get in touch with the SENco at the school.

As you know, I'm a bit of a thinker, and I think that these kinds of reassessments can either come as a 'moment', or as a gradual realisation over a few days/weeks.

I know I've stagnated, albeit in a different way, despite tackling the little things, it's easily done over a long period of time, I think you can lose focus of the bigger picture if you like. A periodic review of things is never a bad thing.

And as for i*oning... I've been meaning to do some for ages, poor DDs are off to school every day as little bundles of creases! I may be inspired, although I won't hold my breath with a teeny baby to look after LOL!

  • Just reading over my post last night and I sound so pitiful, I’m embarrassed.

DH rang me last night to let me know that the company he works for is going to be making further pay cuts in December, so we are likely to lose another chunk off the salary a month. Not good when it’s costing us money each month for him to be on site in Norwich. I’ve told him that now might be a good idea to get his c.v circulating as he’s been on about moving companies for a while now.

We don’t need to lose more money a month and just when we think everything is going right something comes along to screw it up. I can’t look for another job with more money yet until DD goes full time in November.

Roll on 2011, it’s got to be better than this at the moment.
