  • I have been spending today mainly thinking about things and how my plan can possibly work when things for DH work wise are going Tonto? Part of me has been failing to see any way to make it work but after much more thinking a big part of me knows that if I don’t try this time next year we’ll be in the same boat or worse and I will kick myself for not even trying.

DH is more annoyed I think because his company said they were giving back to the employees at Christmas the percentage that they took earlier on in the year when in actual fact they are going to be taking even more. I know it’s not the companies fault but a lot of the employees are feeling like they were given a carrot to keep them working for the company when all along the company were going to be doing the pay cuts. DH will lose approx £60 a month more (I think), that will make a reduction in salary of £200 a month since April.

I guess I will need to do some more thinking and find extra ways that I can build up some money a month.

Right enough wallowing! This isn’t going to get me anywhere. Part of my plan is going to come into action a lot sooner than next year.

So DH gets paid on Friday, good stuff :) I am limiting myself to £80 spends and £100 petrol money from then on and aiming to walk to school and NSD’s as much as possible from then on.

Next week is looking like this:

    Monday: Spend
    Tuesday: NSD
    Weds: NSD
    Thurs: Spend
Fri: Mum down, kids inset day

Tomorrow will be a NSD and possibly Friday, if I can eek out the petrol that’s in the car I could fill it up on Monday as I don’t tend to use my car over the weekend. I could walk to work but it means walking to the next village which is on top of a big hill! Something to think about once DD goes full time.

Got some girl-friends coming over tonight and they are bringing nibbles and I’ve got a few bits too, should be a good night if not a very drunken one.

Now I’ve put things down on paper so to speak, I feel a bit better about things.

Morning peeps, very tired this morning but had a great night last night with my friends.

Not much to report at the moment despite my epic posts this last couple of days, today I’m aiming for a NSD, my friend has asked me to go shopping with her but I’m a bit on the skint side until tomorrow so have declined.

DH is home tonight :D, will have to think of something to make for dinner, going to raid the freezer I think.

    Chores for today:
    • [STRIKE]Sort out DS bedroom[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Hoover upstairs[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Tidy dining room[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Wash up[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Sort dinner – peppercorn chicken, mash and peas[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Go to work[/STRIKE]
    Have a good day everyone.
  • Friday at last :D and payday for DH…boy that’s been a long time coming! It doesn’t look like DH got paid the mileage that they missed last month but until DH’s payslip gets delivered we can’t tell. Things are going to be tight again this month again but thankfully not as tight as last month and I get paid in two weeks time.

Shopping is being delivered today, so I can work out a meal plan for the month. I also need to do a meat shop for the month this morning.

Time to put my plan in to action and see if I can make it work; I’m going to go into the bank this morning and draw out enough to cover the kids climbing, my spends, my petrol and what I give my friend for looking after DD.

I need plenty of NSD’s this month, I need to aim for at least 11 possibly more and if I walk to school and back a bit more I might have more left in the petrol budget to roll over to the next month.

Next week is e-bay week, I need to try and get some bits on there and get rid of some more tat.

Hoping that More Than gets paid on Quidco as that’s £55 I can add to the pot, I think on there I have about £58 in total to come.

I love a challenge, so come on October/November do your worst!
  • Have been and bought the meat for the month and a few bits I couldn't get from Asda online, total spent £51.48 I will update the grocery total once the Asda delivery has been this afternoon.

I didn't think I would ever need to but I need to get a bigger purse! I've sorted out the money for the month and just can't close the blooming thing.

You are doing really well, tea - just think how different your mindset would be had these paycuts and potential paycuts been made two or three years ago!

Have a good weekend, and remember, you are getting there x

  • Happy Saturday! I thought it was time to update my diary; I’ve been reading other peoples this morning and lurking on FB.

The kids have decided to ‘format’ the Playstation…I have no idea how they’ve done it or how to rectify it, so they are going to have to wait until DH comes home from the flying club tonight so he can take a look at it and see if he can fix it. I told them that they don’t make them anymore and if it’s broken that is it, they’ll have nothing to play on.

Shopping arrived yesterday, total: £236.29, grand total for groceries/alcohol so far: £287.77, which leaves a massive £12.23 in the budget of which I need to get some fruit and veg and no doubt other bits to get over the month, will try and keep it under £350 as opposed to it usually being £400+.

I’m working on the meal plan for the month and will nip over to the old style board for some ideas. Although DH is working away during the week, I like to have a back up plan just in case he ends up being home one day.

Back in a mo, need to feed the kids.

Thanks Hypno, I would hate to think what state we'd have been in when DD was little if this had happened then.

Hope you have a good weekend too hun x
