Morning, Monday again and the last week before half term; kids have an inset day on Friday so DH is taking the day off oh and my mum is coming down on Friday too

I’ve got my Induction Course to attend on Tuesday, which I almost forgot about. Managed to wrangle the Sat Nav off DH so I know where I am going; good job DH knows where he’s going to get to Norwich or we’d both had been stuck!
Busy week this week and I am doubtful that any e-baying will get done this week as I am literally going to be running around like a headless chicken.
My new plan starts this week and I am looking forward to the challenge.
Have checked online banking and there are no surprises today, on the wage side of things the company have really messed up DH’s pay; so he’s understandably not very happy is going to have a word with his boss, so watch this space.
I forgot to add to my list so will amend that so that I have it all in one place.

Morning, I didn’t update yesterday as nothing much happened so didn’t see much point.
DH did a ‘deal’ with his boss over the mileage, to save his boss the hassle of talking to Payroll his boss has agreed to pay for the hotel for the nights that the kids and I are up in Norwich next week and will be included in DH’s expenses next month
So wasn’t able to put the extra money aside for birthdays next year so will need to think of something else.
Have transferred over the money for the CB, I will initially use it for Christmas for the family/kids and then after Christmas I will then start to save it to pay off the overdraft.
So far, although we are in the overdraft (as usual) we aren’t as bad as we have been in the past and I haven’t been paid yet. Things will change next week as we are away for a few days but I’m going to try and keep it low spend as possible.
I’ve got lots of housework to do but can’t be bothered to do it today. I think just the basics will be done so the house looks presentable; I think I’ll go and do some retail therapy and get some Christmas presents. I don’t have much to get anyway so might get the family finished and then work on the kids/hubby.

I thought I would post an update on things.
Bad news: I have run out of washing powder
Good news: Mum is bringing some down with her on Friday, so remainder of washing can wait until then
Bad news: Virgin credit card bill came through
Good news: Have done balance transfer to Goldfish (Barclaycard) and have halved the interest. 0% transfer until Sept 2011
Bad news: Interest on Virgin (MNBA) 26.5% - I think, I know it’s high though
Good news: Interest on Goldfish – 12.4%
I have even made a payment to Goldfish of £20.16, this was the minimum they wanted so I think once the transfer has gone through I will make another payment to reduce it a bit more but not as much as I normally would do to Virgin.
Housework wise, I’ve done the washing up and am aiming to do a few more bits and bobs before the end of the day as DH is home tomorrow night.
Feel a lot happier now we’ve got ‘rid’ of Virgin.0 -
I can’t believe that it has been so long since I wrote in my diary.
My mum did come to visit, she stayed Friday to Monday and spoilt us rotten as usual, she brought toys and clothes for the kids, alcohol and cleaning stuff for us; a friend of hers asked why she spends as much as she does on us and mum replied that life is hard enough when you have young children and parents need all the help they can get and as she never got any help raising my brother and me she will do all she can to help me with my two…her friend didn’t say anything more after that.
We did go to Norwich, I forgot to take Hypno’s number sorry hun but we did manage to find something to keep the kids occupied. I admit that we did spend but not quite as much as we normally would, we went to a place called Dinosaur Adventure Park, it cost me £30 to get in but we took some food and had a good three hours there, we would have had more but the kids were tired.
We did go to the Castle for the last hour, so only spent £3 then. The kids want to go see the castle again as there are bits you can’t visit when you only pay for that hour so we’ll have to go back during the day.
We also went to the Cathedral and boy was it breathtaking!
My DH has a rapport with the coffee man opposite site and as all the site staff buy their coffee from him they get a discount and he even gave me and the kids a discount. The kids had ‘baby chinos’ which is milk with chocolate sprinkles on it for 50p and my Latt! cost me a £1…he does good coffee and was very much needed as the hotel coffee was carp!
The only other expense was the petrol and the toll road money; all in all a good few days break but glad to be home despite not wanting to leave.
So now on to reality, the gas/electric bill came whilst we were away £246.75 to be paid there.
DH and I were talking and DH has said that I need to pay more off the credit card than I am doing as he’s putting on nearly a grand a month and I am paying off only £200 - £300 per month. I see what he’s saying but find it impossible to pay off all of his expenses off the credit card when they come through as they are usually needed for something else.
Having checked the finances we don’t have very much left and two weeks left to go until DH gets paid; I need to curb my spending for the next two weeks if we are to have anything left at the end of the month. My aim is that I will pay any extra amount off the Goldfish the day before DH gets paid.
DH is away again Monday – Friday next week and I have two days off next week due to Inset days at the school I am working at. I am meeting up with a friend of mine for lunch on the Monday but that should be it spending wise so far.
Housework to sort next week…what fun! It does need doing so am going to get stuck in and get things back up to date. DH is working at the flying club on Saturday, so am aiming to get started then.
