  • Happy Monday :) Thanks for the good luck wishes and Taxi I hope you're feeling much better.

Busy day for me today, we’ve got DD’s Speech Therapist coming this morning, I start my new job today, I need to get some milk and Nurofen and the kids go to Climbing Club this afternoon.

Dinner is fairly easy today, we are having Taco’s; told DH that I’ve got far too much running about today to do anything more complicated.

Saturday saw my first NSD, so I’m off to a start there. I’m anticipating some more this week along the way.

Off to get showered and dressed and get some housework done before school starts.

    Have a good day.

hope you have a good day too xxx
  • Morning Diaryland….yawwwwnnnn….sorry but DD got me up at 5.15am!

My first day at work went without a hitch :) and my DD had lots of fun at my friends’ house whilst I was away, so that’s one less thing I need to worry about.

DH is away tonight so both kids are having an early night tonight and tomorrow night. Dinner for me tonight is baked potato and salad and possibly an early night for me tonight too.

NSD for me today, I have some groceries I need to get from Tesco’s but am trying to stay within my budget for the month.

Will update later, am going for more coffee and possibly some more after that.
  • Thursday and a step closer to the weekend, I’m so tired today. The good news is that my new job is working out nicely and I like it; it’s nice to be earning some money and will surely help towards being debt free.

I am planning on not making any proper over payments until the New Year as there is Christmas coming up and I want to try and get sorted on that side of things first.

I need to try and get my act together to make a plan for 2011 and where I want to be this time next year…hopefully in a better financial position than we are now that’s for sure.

Walking with the kids to school and back is proving to be very good; both kids seem to like it…although that might change when the bad weather starts.

NSD for me yesterday, so that’s a good thing; I need more of them before the month is out.

6 days left until DH gets paid…that is one thing I am looking forward to. Still can’t decide over his expenses and what to do for the best with it. I think though that the cars side of it is definitely coming out of it just not to sure about the rest of it…more thinking me thinks!

DH is home tonight :D can’t wait.

Off to scour the charity shops this morning before work, probably won’t find anything but I still like going for a look. So today may or may not end up as a NSD.

    Have a good day everyone.

I'm glad that the job is going well :T

Planning for 2011 - it doesn't seem long since we were planning for 2010! Mind you, 2010 has been such an odd year for me that I will be glad to be planning for 2011 with a bit more certainty!! Last year's plans went out of the window fairly swiftly!

Well done on the NSD too - I am finding them very hard to come by at the moment......must try harder. Or just not eat :D

Am so glad you like your new job x
  • Its Friday….boy has this week gone quick! I bet they don’t all go this quick :)

Home visit from DS’s school today, the teacher is coming to see DD who will start on Monday. God that’s gone fast! It doesn’t seem two minutes since the beginning of the year and she was starting in September.

Anyway enough of that and on to the financial things; yesterday was a low spend day instead as I spend a whole £3.50, I got two things for the kids and paid for parking.

Next week will be my first proper week to get into a routine with the house. I am planning that Monday and Wednesday I’ll attack the house and the nights when DH is in Norwich I will do the odd bit and then Tuesday and Thursday will be days for me and then Friday my friend and her boys are coming to visit so that day will be up in the air.

I need to get the shopping ordered today; I’m trying to cut it down bit by bit which is sort of proving successful but still a long way to go.

With regards to the rest of the year…we have 4 pay days left for DH, I need to try and get Christmas presents sorted and got through what I’ve already bought so I know what I’ve got left to get. I need to try and get plenty of NSD’s in between which I’m hoping now DD will be at school and I’m working will help on that side of things.

I have totalled up what needs to be paid for the year and how much I need to put aside each month in order not to be in the same position this time next year. I really need to try and get a better paid job once DD is in school full time, term time is still the way to go for a few years but I need a job that’ll ultimately pay me just that bit more.

Right off to get motivated. Have a good day everyone.

All sounds very positive there Tea and have a good day yourself x
  • Saturday and a busy day ahead of us today, DD has an opticians appointment at 9am and then she’s got a birthday party from 1pm – 4pm. DS is doing things with Daddy, so probably climbing and bikes if lasts night’s discussions have anything to do with it.

When we’ve been to the opticians I need to pick up some wrapping paper and yogurts which I forgot to get the other day.

I have made a start on my list for 2011 and identified the main things I want to achieve next year but there are other little bits that I want to sort too. Looking at the house I think that this may be something that although is a priority we need to build up a fund first.

I have done the shopping online to be delivered when DH gets paid next week; I need to draw out the remainder of the budget for that and try to stick to it. Once the shopping has arrived and I’ve done the meat shop for the month I can get on with the meal plan for the month (and try to stick to it).

Have a good day everyone and a good weekend if I don’t get chance to come online tomorrow.
  • I didn't think that I would ever get to do an update, my darling hubby was sorting out the laptop at the weekend and took off Word and I have been told that the disc is somewhere in the house and I have hunted high and low and I can'tfind it, so I have had to use a freebie for the moment so that I can at least get something written down...bless him for having a clear out...at least he didn't get rid of Excel.

Anyway, DD started school on Monday and loved it so that's one less worry and DS seems to like his new teacher and has settled in to Year 2 really well :D
I received my Contract on Monday (which still needs signing and sending off) my pay for the month will be £247.75 of which £80 will go to my lovely friend who's babysitting whilst I work. Once the end of November comes round I will have all of the wage to play with IYSWIM? I also get paid on the last Thursday of every month.
I have been thinking about the expenses situation and I think that I really need to sort the car taxes out and bung the rest on the card. Not ideal but I need to try and get rid of it before it gets much higher.
I have also got the shopping being delivered tomorrow, I have done the meat shop and should have enough meat until the end of the month. I aim to meal plan again for the month.
I have counted up the change that was in my demi-john and there was £51 in there, so that's going to be paid in tomorrow and taken off the credit card I think.
I am still trying to find the right way for things to work for not just me but 'us' so that we don'tconstantly feel like we are in the red all the time. I'm hoping that now I've started work things will improve, time will tell I guess.
I'm 6 years away from 40, by then my lil one will be 10 and my eldest will be 12 by that time I want for us to be on an even keel and not fretting so much about money...sorry I'm rambling.
On a happier note, my late best friend's eldest daughter gave birth to twin boys a little while ago and they were in SCBU for a month and are going to be let home at some point next week. Her daughter has said that I am an 'adopted' aunty to them :D My friend would be so proud of her and the boys.
