Yes most place will just amend the booking if you call them, but a lot of people from the UK don't like calling the US. Doesn't bother me and I call places in Vegas all the time.
The one place what wouldn't just amend the booking was the Excalibur. Twice I've called them and both times was told to cancel and rebook online. They weren't at all helpful or nice.0 -

It could have been that the deal you were on,or trying to change to,was an internet only deal (just a thought)
For anyone who doesnt want to call the US, it can be done for 0.5p a minute so no reason not to.0 -
My Pet Hate in Vegas
The card they put in with the bill at Venetian/Palazzo/Grand Lux for all our "foreign guests who obviously dont know how to tip".
IMHO its cheaper than the people who dont leave a tip to do that. Am thinking of having my own card printed up saying "Yes I do know how to tip but I dont tip to people who ask".illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Think yourselves lucky though, in South Beach Miami everything gets an 18% gratuity added to it, even just a drink at a barThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
MarchGood for you stoneman-I'd have done the same.
The worst I ever saw for stiffing at a casino was an American aquaintaance who ordered drinks for five of us and tipped a dollar. I was embarassed and caught the waitress later and tipped her myself. I got fantastic service the rest of the time there-not just from her but from all the waitresses.
In O'Sheas I tipped $5 for one drink as the CW had to run back and forth to change a large bill for me -despite it been busy I got great service a drink every 10 mins after that without asking- and she even came to tell me she was going to lunch so they'd be short so would bring me two before she went <hic> LOL
Phonecalls to the US -if you have the Sky Unlimited phone package it includes free US calls-the savings I make rebooking always more than covers the extra cost of the package for me.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Don't think we have ever had one of these.:eek:0 -
October , Novemberas i have mentioned before we are looking into a 2bedroom suite for the 4 of us - i have tried pricing these but haven't got anywhere yet
just wondering if anyone can recommend a hotel with 2 bedroomed suites? i know they will be more expensive than a standard room but something that i would like to give a go.
may dates are 10th to 17th november and would consider an average room for 3 or 4 days then a suite at a different hotel for the last few days.
budget is around £1500 for the 4 of us but i think we can stretch that if the suite was reasonably priced!0 -

Have you looked at Signature? They have 2-bedroom suites...I think some of the casino/hotels have them but they rarely (never?) come up on the standard booking pages...not sure if that's because they're generally reserved for high rollers or not...it may be you have to call for availability and rates.
I think one thing you may not be considering is in most hotels - a one bedroom suite is going to be quite a bit more than a standard room...so a 2-bedroom suite is going to be even more expensive than that...the square footage of the room is likely to be that much bigger in a 2-bedroom than a one-bedroom and prices will reflect that...looking at the room descriptions at Signature the 2-bedroom suites are 1500 square feet vs 950 square feet for the 1-bedroom.
You could look into booking through an owner a Signature (never done it myself, no personal recommendation from me, just a thought).
