I suspect either they dont know or they made it up or they lied. The Houston to Vegas portion will be a 737, which doesnt have the range to fly from the UK. Have they told you the flight number?
Also internal flights go into a different terminal at LAS, which this will be if theyre picking up passengers, and you cant go there as you havent gone thru immigration.
Youre right, 40 mins isnt enough time to change planes and go thru immigration, so theyll put you onto the next plane to LAS if theres room.
On the baggage, its possible VirginHols have a deal with Continental for an exemption from 2nd baggage fees eg if its a full Y fare you get two bags free.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
I agree with Froggit, about having to change planes and therefore 40 mins probably wont be enough0

SeptemberThe resort fee info is available on MGM's website.
For your convenience, for arrivals after July 4th, a daily resort fee of $10 plus tax will be added to your room account and includes the following hotel services: Complimentary high speed internet, $15 beverage credit per stay available at any MGM owned bar, daily USA Today newspaper, local and toll free numbered calls, limited Business Center Services such as outgoing faxes, copies, notary, and boarding pass printing.
I think credit_crunch stayed in a Celebrity Spa Suite (CSS), so not a standard room.
Hi, everyone a Vegas virgin I'm afraid with very little knowledge, we're off next September and booked with Thomas Cook in August (staying at MGM grand for 5 nights), It's my 50th and there's four couples going, but I was wondering about the resort fee will we have to pay this? I like to let my friends know if there's any extras to pay.
Does anyone know of any good shows apart from the Jerseys boys, would love to see them but also thinking of everyone else too.
When do you think is the best time to buy vouchers for eating out and would my friends also have to buy they're own or would 1 voucher cover a group of eight?
Sorry for all the long winded questioning, trying to get it right:)
P.s Do you think it wiser to pay for limo to hotel or taxi? TIADecember 2011 Sesky Watch, strimmer, tv, hoover & steam cleaner. March 2012 Straw dogs blueray film.0 -
Thanks for the reply's.
We are going for 7 nights so probably just going to stay at one hotel. I was leaning more towards the Encore or Venetion so that narrows my choice down to 2.
My other half does like to stay at nice hotels so a good room / hotel is a must really. (Personally i would go for a cheaper option so i can lose more on the poker tables!)
I am probably leaning more to the Encore and she likes the Venetion.....let the battle commence!
Go for palazzo if at venetian rooms normally same price and
Much nicer in my opinion0 -

Agree with this and the others...they have to land you at your first point of entry in the US....you won't just stay on the plane, you and the other passengers have to go through immigration.
Only other thing I can think of is Virgin didn't mention a stop earlier in the journey?
If the flights are all with Continental - I would go to Continental's website and put in your dates, find the flight times they gave me and see...then at least I would be armed with more info when I spoke to TC as something sounds fishy...the luggage allowance too, but maybe the price include an extra bag or something as an extra?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I would check with TC on the resort fee thing - most 3rd party bookings don't include it, but maybe some do.
On the vouchers, depends on which vouchers you mean. If restaurant.com - buying them when they have an 80% offer code on makes sense and since they don't expire, may be worth getting them early...but you can only use one per party - so can't buy several for a party of 8. If you mean the American Casino Guide the 2011 guide is out this month I believe (haven't checked to see if it's available yet). If the Las Vegas Advisor Member Reward Book - 2011 memberships are now available, though not sure if the 2011 coupon list is out yet. In the case of the ACG and LVA, we have never had any trouble with 4 of us using 2 buy-one-get-one-free vouchers...but most have a limit of 2 people per coupon, so anyone in the party that wanted the deal would have to have their own.
Shows are a relative thing...there are tons of good shows, depending who you ask and what you like.
For 8 people you would need 2 taxis...you could get a stretch SUV for everyone if you wanted...it may make it a nice experience if everyone is arriving the same time and going to the same hotel. Will be more expensive though.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Shows are subjective to what you tastes are . there is no certainty you will like what we liked . with that in mind :
our Fav Vegas show : Le Reve
Best cheap show : Mac King
most over rated : Mystere
Best Vegas Showgirl Show : Jubilee
worst value : David Copperfield
Funny for Couples : Defending the Caveman
others worth checking out IMO Amazing Jonathan , Phantom of the Opera , Mamma Mia , Blue Man Group
it's been a while since we seen some of those so they have moved or finished since we were last there .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Worst Show in Vegas : Zumanityillegitimi non carborundum0

Aprilhey Karen i have been assured by Virgin on both points. about baggage allowence the person on the phone even went and checked with her suppervisor because she said it was more allowence then she got as a staff member. I questioned the stop off as plane lands at 15.45 and takes off 16.25 she said all that will happen is people get off and on and i dont move. 40 minutes is clearly not enough time to change. Ill check once again mid week when i book but more then happy with those arragments.0
