MayHey everyone
We're booked to fly out 14th July for two weeks, Manc-Vegas with Virgin. This will be our second trip...:j
Can anyone who has got married in Vegas give me some advice? We are currently looking at locations, and would like to do something a little more 'classy' (if that's the right word, not wanting to offend anyone, everyone is different and whats right for one person isn't for another). We are not religious at all, and would like an intimate ceremony.
There will only be the two of us and really would like to have some nice, if different, wedding photo's. Would also really like advice re: getting a wedding dress/rings over there (again,we don't really do tradition or fuss, more contemporary/alternative/vintage chic)
Any advice gladly appreciated
lolx
Hi Wizbit, first of all congratulations! We got married in Vegas in October last year, it was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.
From my own experience, if you want the wedding chapel experience in a classy way, take a look at the Little Church of the West http://www.littlechurchlv.com/
It's a beautiful little wooden church, the service was simple but lovely and there are several packages to choose from so you can tailor it to what's important to you and how much you want to spend.
It's located south of the strip, between Mandalay Bay and the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
After the service we booked a 2-hour photo tour of the strip with Todd from Bently & Wilson, DH found him recommended on wedding forum The Knot. We were so glad we did - we now have all these amazing pictures of us at the Las Vegas sign, at the Bellagio fountains, in the grounds of Caesars palace and at Paris Las Vegas. We were really impressed with Todd, we felt really awkward at first about having our pictures taken for two hours but he put us at ease straight away and we now have some fabulous pictures that we love. The price was quite reasonable too so I would recommend taking a look at Bently & Wilson - have a look at the sample pictures online and see if that's the type of photography you're after. http://wilson702.com/index2.php#/home/
We bought outfits and rings over here before we went so I can't comment on what it's like to shop for those things in Vegas.

I really love the idea of Valley of Fire, solely based on photos I've seen...may not be at all the sort of thing you are looking for, but the photos seem to fit the bill, at least.

They do some other 'alternative' sort of locations too.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi all
Currently planning our 2nd trip to vegas in may
2011. We are doing the flights and hotel through
virginholidays.co.uk and with the full £1400 clubcard
vouchers as long as we book beore the 6th Dec.
The only thing that puzzles me is when booking on
virginholidays.co.uk the flights are with Delta and
from Heathrow, has anyone had any experiences
with Delta? I had assumed it would be from Gatwick
and with Virgin Atlantic! Also in order to get the
maximum from the vouchers we have these options
all for 2 Adults for 7 nights including flights from 2nd
May till the 9th May
The Tropicana - £1367
Mandalay Bay - £1677
MGM Grande - £1556
Planet Hollywood - £1527
Luxor - £1447
Paris - £1532
Imperial Palace - £1279
PH Towers Westgate - £1538
Monte Carlo - £1533
We stayed at PH last year and thought it was pretty
good in terms of what it offered and its location. do
any of those prices seem good value?
I am liking the look of Mandalay Bay i think out of all
of those.
Please help!!2007 Comping challenge -> £00.00 <-Typical luck!:mad:0 -

Of those options, assuming just a standard room at each, I think that all other than MB will seem a step down from your previous experience at PH...Paris may be the other option that wouldn't seem less appealing than PH, though these things are really relative. Paris and PH have a much better location in terms of being quite central...MB is of course at the far south end of the strip. Some like it down there (we used to be south strip fans) but many prefer centre strip just for the location.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Paris for me on these prices , but only cause i always wanted to stay there . Planet Hollywood seems like the best value
we like Mandalay Bay a lot but at the right price , but i would rather save and be centre strip on the above prices . or do you want to use of Mandalay Bays' super duper pool ?Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I got married in the same place - and had Todd for 8 hours, as said about he was great. Compaired to UK wedding photographers he's very cheap.
My pics are here - http://www.photobox.co.uk/creation/288650229
Personally, id buy outfits here - Im fairly sire all the bridal shops are mainly off strip so i wouldnt want to waste my vegas time finding somthing to wear - but i guess it could add to the fun of it all?!
As said above - the knot was my bible for all things to do with vegas weddings, and this thead for things to do.
Happy planning0
