I was booked for 1 week in the Excalibur June 3rd 2011... In a battle to cancel at the mo..... (not a keen fan of resort fees!! :D:D
    Plan now is to:
Stay in the 'Terribles' for the Friday and Sat night which should cost me £70 Total...
Then for the remaining 5 nights, i can get these excluding this resort fee:
MGM'S - Grand Tower or West Wing Double = £225 (Resort fee not come into play until July is it ??)
    Monte Carlo - Deluxe Double = £236 (+ £50 resort fee i guess)
    Mandalay Bay - Deluxe 550DR = £277.58 (+ £58 resort fee maybe?)

I like swimming pools and nice ones too, which is why i picked the above 3... Original plan was to stay in the Monte Carlo but lots of people on here do talk about the MGM's alot... My original budget is £300 for a hotel(s) in Vegas, so if no fee for MGM, i dont break my budget :)
If i book later today the MGM, is there much difference in the Tower or West Wing ?

If they say "everybody off please" and you say "but Ive been told by VirginHols I dont need to get off" and you dont get off, likely youll end up in jail, with a record, and no chance of going to the states again.

trets, Im not disputing Continental do have to get you there, but it may be some hours later than you expected, and you may have chosen a different route if you had been told you had no chance of making the connecting flight when you booked.

mmm this one is providing a lively debate .

OP has booked and payed now using Clubcard vouchers , so guess we will see for sure .

Might be worth a call to Continental direct and see what they have to say .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

The MGM Grand resort fee already came into effect from July this year

Why Terribles and for £70 , it is very small, mainly used by locals and often has unused tables in the casino, is a Looong walk to the strip. ( as you know my choice would be Orleans, much nicer rooms, much nicer casino, loads to do and has a shuttle to strip, and if you wait will be avialable for similar price. Terribles really isnt a wise choice for a first visit to Vegas.

And as has been posted MGM resort fees started this year. West wing rooms are small with little or no window light.

I dont like the MGM even tho I have stayed there 3 times, it is just to big and they never seem to have the room you have requested even tho they have 5500 of them.

OUt of the 3 the MB has IMO the best rooms and by far the best pool if you like surfing

We both like pools were there not too crowded, and the idea of the lazy river, and lots of open Sun as such, and with that bit of Luxary feel to it..... So looked at the Tower room at the MGM as it seems to have all that, and was cheaper than the other 2. 5000+ rooms, my god thats alot!! Makes me wonder if my $20 sarnie would work there!!!!

I picked Terribles as looking for a cheap place for the fri/sat night, and the estimated cost would be say $88.... I checked out Orleans but there rates would be alot higher (around $140 ish)...
Think my idea was to stay cheap, walk around here and there (dont mind walking), and then saturday sunbath all day (and a bit of Sunday) and sat night head over to where ellis island place is, and surrounding areas/taxi to Freemont street maybe?.....(a few rate that place on here), so staying off the strip until the Sunday.....

I know it sounds daft, but i need to keep my costs to that £300 for the week :) and as to MGM resort fee's, i thought it was next July they come in! And as to tables, i'll be looking for what we get over here (50 cent chips on roulette) or minimum $5 on Blackjack! :)

But seriously, it was appalling. Wished we were on the end of the row so we could have escaped early. Wasnt even remotely funny, sexy, interesting. In hindsight, even Donny and Marie ;) or Matt Goss or seeing Penn and Teller again would have been better.

Well, hi all. Just got back from a week in Miami and I want to make an unreserved retraction about everything negative I have said about Vegas recently. Honestly, Miami Beach has to be the worst vacation destination I have ever been to. If you think it off that you hear lots of Hispanic speakers in Vegas, thank yourself lucky. I won't elaborate anymore because this is not the right thread to do so. So from now on we are looking forward to our May trip to Vegas and we are even looking for something at the end of February. :D
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
