JuneMy wife always brings loads of shoes back, I cant remember what make now but they are about £60 TO £70 a pair here, she usually gets 2 pairs for about half that at the premium outlet mall
the missus came back with just 7 new pairs of shoes from our trip last year and to this day i dont think she has yet worn 3 pairs of them0 -
MaySounds like time of day was the issue. Once the sun is in the sky 95%+ of SW USA is "colourless". Getting an early morning flight would lessen the turbulence and have better colours.
Yes I agree. I can't remember the time of the flight, I just remember it being "colourless" so guessing that it had been around midday. It was over 20 years ago so the memory is a bit fuzzy.
I do remember going for lunch at a restaurant possibly in Boulder City and the company was Lake Mead Air or similar as we bought the T-shirts!
It also included a tour of the Hoover Dam, when you could still get in and around it on a guided tour which was great.
The flight was awful though.
The only way I would do it again is by chopper and an early or late flight. I was thinking of the late afternoon one with Papillon as I think they do a strip tour on the way back.
Still toying with it for May. I did look into it a year or two ago so will have to research again, but I think the best price with Papillon is to book it before we go unless anyone knows different?0 -
MayI see several people are like us and have a connecting flight to London (on top of any connections in the US).
If you book it all on one ticket your baggage should be transferred at London without having to collect it and re-check it, even if the flights are with different airlines.
I know someone who did this with FlyBe to Gatwick and Virgin to LAS. I didn't think it was possible a) with FlyBe being a low cost airline and Virgin not partnering with anyone (that I'm aware of).
However I called FlyBe and it is indeed the case. They also honoured the higher baggage allowance of Virgin.0 -
MayYey - someone used my tip :j Finally I feel like I have contributed something useful to this forum instead of just taking everyone else's advice!! I'm still keeping an eye out for any better offers as our booking is refundable if cancelled, but that 222 deal at the MGM looks pretty unbeatable for our dates.
And someone else has just used your offer! I may have actually posted it myself (posted so many recently that I can't keep up!), but I didn't actually price it for our dates until today.
Celebrity Spa Suite is actually $67 less on the 222 offer than the 96 hour sale offer I had booked at with free internet daily. Even if I now have to pay for the internet, we will still have $84 additional freebies with 2 dinner buffets and 2 cocktails so I have rebooked and cancelled the original one.0 -
MayHi everyone need some help/advice from the experts...
Booked Signature for 10 nights in Sept about 2 weeks ago to make sure I had what I wanted with the hope a better rate would come up, today I have found a promo code which reduces the price by nearly $400 a room (we have 2 rooms booked) so called Sig and spoke to a lady who said she had changed the reservation happy days. Then the new confirmation comes through and it said first night $129 + tax which is what evey night should be so called again to ask if we could have confirmation that the whole 10 nights had been changed and they said they have on there system the whole 10 nights at $129 a night on both rooms... They said thats all the confirmation they could send? Will I be ok taking there word for it? I was hoping to get something that said the promo name on it or the total rate is this just me being daft is this not how it works? I have printed the rates out etc from the website so I have them but am just a bit concerned.
By the way the promo code is BST10
I think I posted the BST10 promo around 14 January...........0 -
SeptemberThe 50 minute connection timesI came across were on the way out, Is that really possible? It doesnt matter now to me as I am booked on a super luxurious economy seat with VA:(
You can always try the extra legroom toilet seat tretts discovered on your retun flight to get some sleepThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

If the same airline books you through they have a system that tells them how long to leave between connections. As said before, if you miss it then they will endever to put you on the next available flight, be it theirs or another airline. they really are a different kettle of fish these U.S. airlines, they all seem to mash together.

We want to have a few days by the pool but don't want it to be too scorching hot. Which month do people think is the better month to go?
Also we are trying to choose a hotel but they all seem fabulous. Which is your favourite hotel?
Would it be possible to do a poll to show peoples favourite hotels like the one at the start of this post or is there one that has been done already as I could not find one?
:j
Either September or October would be fine, but I would go with September to guarantee better weather.
We have been several times the first week in November and you could sunbathe during the day in a sheltered spot, but it could be chilly early morning or late evening.
Last year we went the last 2 weeks in September and it got up to 103F some days! Now I don't like the heat, but I managed to cope with the dry heat much better than I can with Europe.
I've had a look at the Convention Calendar http://www.lvcva.com/meetings/convention-calendar.jsp and can't see anything that would really affect room rates. There's one at 35,000, but that's not massive by Vegas standards.
Can't really comment on hotels without knowing your budget per night. Yes they are all fabulous multi-million dollars resorts and you can't really go wrong with any of the high end places.0 -
AprilRight, I have our flights booked and even though we have a change of flights twice each way, I'm happy with the price of £364 each from Manchester. As I stated in a previous post, we are on a tight budget for this trip but in a moment of madness, when I booked the flights, I booked for 10 days instead of the intended 7. (Well, it was the same price and I wanted value for money, didn't I?)
This means we may have no other option than to stay at the Imperial Palace as it seems to be so much cheaper than any other hotel on the strip. I've read reviews, which seem to be mixed - some say it is OK, others say it is awful. What I need to know is, what is it really like? I don't mind basic, as long as it is clean and reasonably comfortable - after all, I'm used to having breaks at Butlins and holidays in Turkey so I can't imagine anywhere less basic than that.0
