    3. I'm planning on popping the question to my girlfriend and wondering if anyone can suggest a good place for us to go shopping for a ring?

Harry Winston if you win big (and it needs to be very big!) or Tiffany.

thanks for the info on the parking situation at Premium Outlets - I may plan to go early and drive as there are a lot of reviews saying that parking's a nightmare and I just can't cope with that - I'll just leave (if I can!)

As for Trump...also not a hater as such...no interest in staying there whatsoever, but I do think for a first trip there may be better choices. There's a reason that Trump is 5* and quite a bit cheaper than the other 5* options...it's not a destination...no one goes to Trump other than people staying there. It's a 5* hotel, but not really 5* by Vegas standards if that makes sense. I can completely understand that for some it's a perfect fit...just not the average Vegas visitor. And because some folks come here asking for advice, many of us give it...some folks will see Trump is a 5* and not realise that it's not really a Vegas resort...it's a nice hotel, with enough amenities to grant 5* status, but it is lacking in other things...those other things may not matter to some, but they would matter a lot to others - so worth mentioning the potential downsides.

As for walking through FSM...I don't know the exact orientation of Trump and this walk...but having walked from one end of FSM to another to get to one store...it pretty much seemed like I should have made it to another county in the time it took as that place is positively massive. :)

    2. Someone posted some vouchers for Freemont street a while back, but the only link I can find is dead anyone point me in the right direction?

Current coupons good to end of this month are here:

    http://www.vegasexperience.com/coupons/3rdQtr2010.pdf

That's unlikely to suit many -you can get the updated versions once released here:

Any email address (I use blah@blah.com) and realvegas is the password.

Two weeks to go for me!! Got a couple of questions if one of the helpful people on here could answer

    1. I'm starting my holiday at Luxor, where is the best place to pop out to first night and pick up water etc for the room?

there's a CVS pharmacy/store on the same side of the Strip, about 0.5 mile north, between NYNY and CityCenter.

though we did go into Luxor for the Titanic exhibition and found at least one convenience store in there... it was obviously quite small but had quite a few fridges in their and a good selection of 'convenience' items

I can't quite remember distances, but there's a petrol station/convenience store (AM/PM) across Las Vegas Boulevard down toward Excalibur/Luxor/Mandalay Bay which may be closer than some other options.

Looking at street view on Google Maps it seems pretty close but as we all know distances are deceiving in Vegas...I have never walked it, only filled up the car there...so can't say for 100% certain how easy a walk it is.

Our first night at Excal, we went to CVS on the same side, and ABC on the other side. CVS doesn't do alcohol, and we ended up going to Panda Express in the food court near to the M and M store anyway.

The gas station wasn't that much different, but we went North because there was more choices.

yeah, i'd say ABC would be marginally closer to Luxor than CVS is - you will have to wait for the traffic lights to change tho and also trek across a million lanes to get across the road (hmmm... unless you cross earlier up @ MGM)

i know i've said it before but a few weeks ago they were doing (nestle) 1 litre bottles of water in there for 99c which is a fantastic price for bottled water

the store is over the road from Diablos (which is on the corner outside Monte Carlo)

they also have quite a selection of snacks, sandwiches etc etc and as pebblesmax mentions, booze as well

I think on the whole that CVS is closer, but there are better options on the other side.We wanted some snacks/food too, so the MGM side was more convenient.

It has just been announced that Donny and Marie are not going to extend their run at the Flamingo. They are currently contracted to appear until October 2012.

The key phrase is "at the Flamingo" it appears. Donny and Marie appear to have seperated from Chip Lightman. Lots of speculation at the moment as to what will happen after THIS October. Seats were on sale for December 2010 and have now gone off sale.

Donny's issued a statement saying the show will continue despite them not renewing their contract with Lightman. Chip Lightman is saying something else.

    Time will tell.
