Have a nice time, 5 days and counting for me0

I stayed at Ceasars last month -booked a Forum Tower and used the $20 trick at check in and got into the Augustus Tower (could have had the Palace Tower too but was going to be more on the Strip than at the pool so Augustus was far better for us). Room was lovely. I'd suspect MO is a nicer room but it's a lot more cash-so really depends how nice you want -location (IMO Caesars can't be beaten for location) and how much you REALLY want to pay. For me I want a nice room but I'm out and about so much that so long as I have the really nice bed, great bathroom and high count thread sheets-anything else is not really needed-location for me is more important. (Deluxe is a much lower standard of room than Forum though-although $20 trick works well-but personally I wouldn't take the risk with deluxe)
You'll get lots of different replies though as we all like different things.
Even though the Forum Tower is cheaper its better than the deluxe?0 -
Article about the "death ray" at Vdara

Could be fun watching flip flops melt!!
haha i'm glad it wasn't just me!
it happens kind of late morning/midday... seriously hot.... and we were there when it was 100+ degrees (without the death ray!) every day. fortunately it doesn't last long and passes in about 20mins, but you really can't spend any more than 1min it, it fries you!
mind you, we had the thought of mind to upturn our flipflops and put everything under the sunlounger, so it all stays as cool as possible0 -
October , NovemberHi all! I've been lurking here for a while and reading the posts when I can (this is a fast moving thread!) and I just wanted to say Thank You for posting so many tips and advice. :T
I'm off to San Francisco & Las Vegas in November for my husbands 50th birthday. We're staying at the MGM Grand. Stayed there in 2007 and really enjoyed it. (Although it's huge and takes forever to get anywhere...LOL!)
There's so much to do Vegas that I'm kind of at a loss about what to plan. We've got a lot planned in San Francisco, so I think we'll be a bit more chilled out in Vegas. I'd like to take a trip to a decent size Walmart while we're there. We don't drive, so does anyone know if I can get to one by public transport, or should I just get a taxi there & back?
I'd also like to see a show whilst we're there. We live in London, so we go to the theatre fairly often & would like to see something that we can't see in London. I quite fancy seeing something along the lines of a showgirl thing, but really quite open to suggestions. I was planning on going to the Tix4Tonight outlet to see what is on offer, but if I had a few shows in mind, that might help me decide!
Another thing I wanted to pick your brains about is buying an ipod touch. I am planning on buying one for my husband while we're out there (or ordering from Amazon.com & getting delivered to our hotel in SF). Would there any issues with using them in the UK? Would the itunes store on the touch show the prices in $?
I definately want to eat at the Cheesecake Factory & hubby wants to eat at the Harley Davidson cafe. We're doing an ihop in SF, so no need to find one in Vegas. The Peppermill sounds great too. Everything just takes so long to get to, though. Thinking I might keep a stash of cereal bars in the room, have one when we get up, then won't be starving by the time we find a place to have a 'proper' breakfast.
Not that fussed about gambling (yes, I know...:rotfl:) but will have a go with some slot machines or maybe a quick spin on the roulette wheel. Any suggestion for a casino (almost) virgin?
We're planning to head to Freemont Street on the bus one evening. I remember going there last visit and drinking HUGE frozen margaritas, then eating a meal at the Golden Gate casino. Yum!
Oh! Almost forgot to ask. Is there anywhere inside the MGM Grand where I can get free wifi? McDonalds or Starbucks, maybe?
Ooooh, I'm so excited I'm practically vibrating!!!! Getting our travellers cheques & cash sorted tonight. Going with Crown Currency Exchange after reading about them on here.
Anyway, thanks again & I've really enjoyed really the travel reports from peoples trips. Sounds like some unforgettable holidays have been had!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

MayRod Stewart is going to be appearing at the Colossuem from 6 November for 2 weeks and then deciding if he will do a 2 year residency.0

MayJubilee! is a show girl show, typically Vegas. Cheapest way of getting tickets we found was to pick up the 24/7 Magazine and Vegas Values in the back of taxis. 2 for 1 tickets with a free upgrade. We got 2 $92 tickets for $70.
You can get a certificate for the Harley-Davidson Cafe at https://www.restaurant.com Google restaurant.com code and you should be able to get 80% off depending on the time of the month.0 -
Does anyone know of an decent deals at the moment (flight & hotel)? Looking to finally book tonight after weeks of mates faffing around & watching prices rising. Looking for hotels on the strip, ideally 4 or 5 star, 3 at a push. Also, want direct flights.
Thanks in advance,0
