OMG - didn't know there was a CSI experience - OH will think he's died and gone to heaven between that and Titanic (he REALLY wants to see the replica staircase) :rotfl:

Manage his expectations as it does not get great reviews :) - you can get discounts from goldstar.com.

If he likes that sort of thing maybe consider Mystery Adventures...we've done it twice and thought it was brilliant and for $40 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours really good value

There's a $5 off coupon on this page:

Vegas is one place where you should never turn up without a hotel reservation. The hotels run at 85-90% occupancy and can charged what they like for walk ups.

You won't do better than the deals that are around months in advance, but the rates do go up nearer the date of arrival.

I'm going to Vegas next June, can't wait. Other than plenty of shoppin', gamblin', eatin' & drinkin', I've always wanted to go panning for gold.

Has anybody ever been prospecting in Nevada? Anybody stuck it rich? :rotfl: and if so where's the best place?

We're going on an ATV tour at Eldorado Canyon and part of the tour is an old gold mine...based on some photos I've seen there may be the opportunity to do some panning but not sure...will report once we've done it on 15th Oct. :)

At last!! We go Saturday for our first ever visit (10th Wedding anniversary) Have booked the Platinum using the TA reviews. Has anyone on here stayed there? just asking cos sometimes TA can be misleading and want it to be right.
Also can anyone give any pointers on how to get Grand canyon helicopter trips cheaper than advertised prices?

So excited now and looking forward to a week of self indulgence!:j
We have stayed there 4 times. In my view one of the top 3 places we have stayed, (the others being Four Seasons and Encore) . I hope you only booked a Solitaire suite because without fail we have been upgraded to a Princess without even asking!! Drop them an email and say you are staying for a week and would like to know if you can have a room with a washing machine. Go shopping to Walmart and get OJ and muffins, there is coffee and a machine in the room, then sit out on the balcony every morning and take in the new day with breakfast. They have a get together on a Wednesday night hosted by the manager with free drinks and nibbles.
OK, do you have a car? If so there is no self parking so you end up sparking out a couple of dollars each time you want your car out. You can not turn left out of the place so you have to drive away from the strip for a quarter mile to do a U turn. Don't forget to walk over to Ellis Island for the BBQ, it's only 30 seconds away!!!
If you do not have a car good luck with the taxis. No drivers go down Flamingo empty to pick up fares so you can be in for a pretty long wait even though the bell boy goes into the road with a neon torch to get one for you. The pool area will be empty and it is like a sauna on the deck. Plenty of towels and really comfy double sunbeds, but no bar service, you have to go into the restaurant and get someone if you want a drink.
If you are walking it is only 10 mins max to the strip up Flamingo, the area looks kinda like a dump but the drunks are harmless enough and they don't beg you for money.:D If you want to stay out of the sun hang a left into the sports book at Ballys half way up and go through there to get to Paris, Bellagio, PlanetAladinwood.
We will probably be staying there again in May if we can get a good deal.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Where would a good place, if any to stay between Vegas and San Francisco, we gonna stay there for 4-5 days and then drive down to LA again there for a few days maybe 1 day in Hollywood (heard its not that great) and then back to Vegas for couple more nights before we fly home

It is only a week untill we are off to Vegas.:j

We have 10 nights booked , and as there are 5 of us I have booked and paid for 3 premier rooms, paid upfront with expedia.

We ( I ) have also got to pay for 30 nights resort fee totaling $225.

I would like to get my 77 year old father, who is on his first trip, upgraded to something better.

As I have paid upfront so cannot get any room nights comped , and will have paid a hell of a lot in resort fees , What do suggest whould be the best way to approach this dilema at checkin, ie do you think a $50 sandwitch would work or should I play on what we have already paid , any other suggestions more than welcome.
I eat time share touts for breakfast 2 for 1
