SeptemberAt last!! We go Saturday for our first ever visit (10th Wedding anniversary) Have booked the Platinum using the TA reviews. Has anyone on here stayed there? just asking cos sometimes TA can be misleading and want it to be right.
Also can anyone give any pointers on how to get Grand canyon helicopter trips cheaper than advertised prices?
So excited now and looking forward to a week of self indulgence!:j0 -
29th August - below average!
http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=MKHND&month=8&day=29&year=2010
:rotfl::rotfl:
the 29th had a maximum offical temp of 87F, something like 15F lower than the average maximum temp for August ....but then again, it's at the end of the month so you would expect it to be lower than the monthly average.0 -
Yea, it's weird, I mean the 25th, 26th and 27th were incredibly warm and I was throwing the Factor 50 on like there was no tomorrow (I burn reallllyyy easily), yet the 28th, 29th and 30th I barely even put any cream (12pm-2pm-ish) on as me and my friends walked the strip with ease.
remember folks -Air temp alone has got nothing to do with whether you are going to get sun burnt or not so don't forget to slip slop slap.0 -

Is it the best food on the strip - No, but its decent enough
Is it overpriced for dinner reservations - a bit, buts its location*3
Is it a pain to get to/from - yes but not too bad
Is it spectacular - Yes!!!!!

I haven't seen the exhibit in Vegas but saw in Cincinnati 10 years ago and thought it was very much worth it. I'm not a Titanic buff either - I would have to think for someone who was really into it it would be fantastic. Unless something's changed you can get 1/2 price tickets at Tix4Tonight.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilI don't know about the Titanic Exhibit, but if you want to cut your losses and make sure you get your money's worth I'd suggest doing the '3 attractions for $54' deal. Included is: Titanic Exhibit, Bodies Exhibit, Spongebob 4D ride, Rollercoaster at NYNY, Shark Reef at Mandalay, Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage and the CSI Experience. And the Secret Garden/Shark Reef are definitely worth seeing in my opinion (even if its just for an half-hour or so).
I'm not positive that's that good of a deal - several of the things are available at a discount without much effort (Bodies and Titanic 1/2 price at Tix4Tonight, CSI for $15+fee at Goldstar.com, etc)...a few combinations of 3 of those attractions at full price add up to less than $54. I can see if someone really wants to do Bodies, Titanic and CSI and doesn't really want to faff around with getting the discounts available then it might make sense...just pays to make sure you go to the more expensive ones. And I have to disagree on Shark Reef...we were really disappointed in it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

we did that and bodies last year
both were good but neither great
nice way to spend a good few hours away from casinos and on the whole worth the money.
i enjoyed titanic more i suppose but it did just feel like could have done a bit more
bodies was good to apprechiate the skill0 -
MayOMG - didn't know there was a CSI experience - OH will think he's died and gone to heaven between that and Titanic (he REALLY wants to see the replica staircase) :rotfl:0

MayYes the Titanic exhibition is worth seeing once. We found it quite interesting. Definitely get the tickets from Tix4Tonight at half price. I think they are slightly cheaper during the week than at the weekend.0
