We loved Wynn - but we've also never had to pay for Wynn always having gotten it free on slot points promos. For nearly $30/person, it's quite a lot for a buffet.
Other buffets we like if you have a car are Silverton and Green valley ranch it helps that we always get 2 for 1 with coupons form LVA or ACG0 -
What I meant was that I wasn't that impressed by the so-called "real" canyon, partly due to the lack of colour, but mostly due to the awful flight over it.
If the West Rim is even less impressed than the South Rim then to me it would be a waste of money.
I suppose I am thinking of giving it another go to see if I like it any better a second time. I wouldn't grudge the money if I really liked it, but I would if I had another underwhelming experience.
Sounds like time of day was the issue. Once the sun is in the sky 95%+ of SW USA is "colourless". Getting an early morning flight would lessen the turbulence and have better colours.0 -
October , NovemberHi peeps, I'm looking at Las Vegas as one of the potential places to holiday in June this year with the girlfirend. She's not a big gambling person but does love to swim. Was wondering which hotel on the strip has the best pool scene? Cheers :rotfl:Also looked at the MGM special deal of $48 per night room but it's like double money every night of the promotion? Was wondering if anyone managed to get a good deal? Thanks
Which MGM deal have you been looking at and what are your dates in June? It's not shown on the offers on their website but we used this link from the Smarter Vegas offers email and have booked our room for $55 per night:
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?host=promo&pid=001&show=rates&code=MGM039&kbid=1162904&sub=1953753!N!MGM039
Our dates are in October but they have a lot of dates in June for $55 or $69 per night. This is the MGM "222" deal and includes 2 free buffets, 2 free cocktails & 2 free admissions to Studio 54 or Tabu. It does depend on when you're going though, as weekends are a lot more expensive than weekdays.0 -
October , NovemberJust wondered where everyone is getting their flight prices from?
We will be flying from Manchester 17/09/10, returning 08/10/10 and the best I have is £512 each with American Airlines, stopping twice in Chicago & Dallas - not great!! We are looking to fly into Reno & out of Las Vegas (as we're getting married in Lake Tahoe), so it's not a straightforward return flight, but even when I was looking to go in and out of Las Vegas and just add on a cheap Southwest flight to Reno I wasn't getting anything less than £500 each.
Are the people getting the good prices flying mid week (our dates are Friday - Friday due to work commitments) or am I looking in the wrong places? I've gone on the AA website direct as well as Delta and US Airways, and all the prices are similar, if not more expensive, with either 2 stops on the way or an overnight stay in Chicago.0 -
October , Novemberhi the prices I was getting fro flying from manchester, were from travel agents - both thomas cook and thomson - so maybe you could try pricing them directly for flights
other than that i have pretty much used every flight checker/search engine going
netflights
flightchecker
expedia
on some of them you can put that is a multi city trip! im obviously a novice but thought this might help you out0 -
SeptemberRe shoes for Vegas. Tracy says 4" heels every time. (well that's me really saying that but I am sure she would agree with me). A woman should never be seen in public unless she is in heels, even the pool.:DThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

I am looking to got to Vegas at the end of the year (not overly fussed at present if thats Oct, Nov or Dec)
Have spent the best part of a week constatly looking in to flight prices and airlines and reviews/opinions on them on here and various other sources over the internet.
One week on and I am still no clearer as who to travel with. Initially I thought we would go on a direct flight from London with Virgin, this of course would include us having to travel from Glasgow to London, possibly coming down the night before so having the expense of a hotel also, but I have seen many not happy with the older and tired looking Virgin planes.
BA is another option and I have seen that if we were to go both flights with them, then we wouldnt have to worry about or luggage upon arrival at London. Again though I have seen many negative comments on their service as well as concerns over the existing carry on with strikes etc *though you would think they would have it sorted by then, but knowing them they will be striking about something else by then*
Other options are people like Delta or Continental that would leave direct from Glasgow to another state with a changeover to Vegas. These of course can involve some lengthy changeovers and I have seen some complain about immigration when changing states being both lengthy and quite stressful.
All in all my head is mush with it all and I do not feel like I am any further on than I was a week ago.
On top of this I don't seem to be finding any "deals" or "sales" etc
Does anyone have any opinions/experiences on travelling from Scotland and which is the better option to take?

You could always fly into LA and drive to Vegas.
flights are a about £70 cheaper although you are hiring a car, so probably about the same. I wouldn't recommend driving from LA to Vegas when you arrive as it's about four and a half hours.
Could do a couple of Nights in LA or Anaheim (visit Disneyland) if you fancy.
We have done this a few times and it's a nice alternative to "just Vegas"

Hi guys,
don't know if you saw this offer over at flyertalk for planet hollywood $79 this weekend. Kinda of short notice but it might help someone. There is a $99 weekend in april. These seem to be really low weekend rates.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hotel-deals/1041792-planet-hollywood-lv-jan-22-23-weekend-79-night-free-bottle.htmlTitle says it all. Link: https://roomres.planethollywoodresort.com/CGI-BIN/LANSAWEB?PROCFUN+RN+RESNET+R15+FUNCPARMS+UP%28A2560%29:;SNOV;?#&utm_source=guest&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=SNOV
Also, we are staying Jan 22-24, on a rate that is 80, 80, 64. It includes $40 gaming credit, a free bottle and 10% off of Planet daily's restaurant, so you mihgt want to ask about that as well.0
