Aw bummer! I'd been looking at flights for March from Manchester for ages and they weren't really changing at all, so I finally booked it last night (US airways £420) and they're about £55 cheaper today!!! Why do I have Kayak alerts? So sad
    Sorry, had to rant!

Why were you disappointed? I doubt many people are disappointed the first time they see over the rim

I think it was becuase I felt I was simply on top of a mountain ,looking across to the next one in the range with a dirty great big valley in between. Only way I'd go back would be to do it properly and hike/heli etc

Somewhere like Bryce canyon was far more imppressive to me ..or the hike up Half Dome in Yosemite.

Best buffets are listed in the guide . Bellagio and Planet Hollywood are the best IMO . Bellagio if you want the extra special meal , usually a queue but so worth it for a food lover like me .

try our restaurant Recommendations on post 4 . it comes up time and time again , But Mon Ami Gabi @ Paris with a patio table is a great option .

if you want a special steak then thats worthy of a whole different
    discussion .

Thanks for that will look into it, yes a special steak sounds great to, will have to do my research and start reading up before we go.

    Hi Gracie,
    We booked with Papillon.
We actually booked it whilst we were in Vegas - two days before going.
We booked online through their website. It was cheaper that way.
I cant remember the name of the tour - we did quite a bit of research.
Was really good! Are you thinking of going?
    Steff;)
Thanks Steff will look at their website, yes we go May 29th for 5 nights, this is our first visit

Golden rule - once you've booked, don't go back and check the prices again, there's no benefit (must admit though I have done this myself previously !).

Guess thats why we are all different. Bryce Canyon did nothing for me. Yosemite was impressive though (stayed right at foot of the falls). GC still my fav of the 3, it was the only one that made my jaw drop.

its our first trip to Vegas at the end of May and just wanted some advice on eating out, I know the subject is probably never ending but would like to have one special meal while we are there so any recommendations would be very helpful, and also what buffets people recommend, thanks

What is your budget for a special meal and what sort of food do you like?

I thought the Grand Canyon was impressive - though as I keep saying I think the stars at night at the Canyon were my favorite part.

But overall, I would go back to Zion before the GC...something about starting at the bottom looking up was a better experience for me than being at the top looking down...maybe one day we'll do one of the mule tours to the bottom or something.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

hi thought i would update with the latest flight find lol!

fly from dublin to heathrow then fly direct to vegas for £378.70 per person - seen this on netflights and it leaves 10/11/10 returning 17/11/10

the total flight time is approx 14.5 hrs each way - i assume this includes the 2 hour wait between connecting flights

i tried continental airlines but i couldn't seem to find a time table for october/november (flying bfs to newark then to vegas)

this is the best price by around £25 quid so far and if we haven't found a better package deal by sunday we will check this flight price and hopefully get it booked!

has anyone flown this route before? from dub to heathrow then to vegas? i must admit im anxious about the flight being really cramped - from netflights it looked like the flights were BMI - i wonder does this mean the heathrow to vegas one aswell?! will maybe give them a ring to check that out
