And previously used flexicover.co.uk for pre-existing conditions.illegitimi non carborundum0

SeptemberWho do you bank with? I ask because Natwest (my parents) and my First Direct (and presumably others) have their "premium account" eg First Directory, that includes travel insurance for £12 a month. They covered pre-existing conditions such as hypertention and cholesteroemia and chrones and diabetes. Although noones had bypass, but its worth a try.
Tried Flexicover and it was £400+ for just Al on a single trip without me
Photome....Cheapest Annual I could find was £800+....trouble is most wont give us annual to USA with pre existing conditions because of Al's age
It pays to shop around tho as I have asthma...well controlled with no hospital visits some wanted over £100 for me others said there was no extra charge for my condition
I'm pretty sure I'm not going to find a cheaper quote than the Saga one....but will keep searching:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

I'm going into town on Wed and will be trying one of the brokers ....Friends we met in Benidorm (from the same town as us)...the lady has had 2 heart attacks in the last year and her insurance was cheaper than ours so I'm going to try them....she said someone else told them about it because they just ask you questions requiring yes/ no answers ....not sure if it will be any good for us but I'll give it a go....I've printed out the Saga quote to take with me:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -
SeptemberI assume Lorraine that you've tried all the usuals, including Karma insurance? We used them last year as they were no extra charge for pre-existing conditions. Could the British Heart Foundation not recommend someone?0

Credit card, but incurs 2% or so charge. Or VISA debit card, like First Direct, wich I think gives same protection.
Youre only being protected against Virgin going bust, which is unlikely.
Make sure you sign everyone up for Flying Club and you get the 3000 miles signup bounty for each person - buys you a return to Vegas next year!!!illegitimi non carborundum0 -
MayIf you are booking direct with Virgin you only need to pay a small amount on the credit card to have Section 75 cover, as low as £10. The value of the goods (holiday) has to be between £100 and £30,000.
If you are booking through a travel agent it only covers you if the travel agent goes bust, not Virgin, as it doesn't apply to third parties which would be Virgin.0 -

October , Novemberhey was it tang who asked about insurance?
my dad had a heart attack a few yrs ago & is on loads of tablets - almost 12 or 13 a day and he got his last travel insurance through thomson travel agents - it was for a cruise (Caribbean) and it was just over £150.
they could be worth a try if all else fails! good luck with it anyways - always better to pay it just to be on the safe side xo0
