That is a very smart workaround.
I'd love to grab Stripburger but as I go early next month I only have one chance.

    Hi,

Just wondering what are currently the hottest shows in Vegas.
I was thinking about to see Cirque du Soleil, problem is it comes with
a hefty price tag (100 Dollars and more). Is it worth it? Any other shows worth a visit?

    Thanks!
It's been posted before but worth reposting that Cirque can be had for $50 through this link:
    http://promo-www.cirquedusoleil.com/las-vegas/summer-2010/index.htm

i think that is for all shows except 'O'

If you're unsure of what seat to choose, i'd recommend looking at this article:

n the confirmation email they sent you, is there a big green 'button' about half way down saying "print certificate and redeem special offers"? If so, I think you click through and fill the details in there to email it to someone or print it off to get access to the cert number.

Ah - do you know, I think I figured it out - I choose the gift CARD...not the Gift Certificate. Dumb, dumb, dumb - but since it was the first option on the page I just thought that hey, here we go....and clicked.

It's fine as my sister will just email me with the info from the gift card when it arrives (and shipping was free)...and maybe my mistake will save someone else doing the same thing. :)

Aaah, that makes sense - I hadn't even noticed those, glad I didn't do the same thing or some poor postman in Las Vegas would be trying to find my home address with a Las Vegas zipcode!

I just went on to restaurant.com to redeem my certificate, which has added a $50 credit to my account. You have to do all this through a slightly different section of the website to normal, under the Redeem Gift tab, and the format of how the page is laid out is a bit different to the normal restaurant.com site...anyway, what I'm coming to is that Stripburger is NOT on the list of restaurants there  but I don't know whether that's because the certificates there are currently all sold out.

I can but try when they launch the batch of new Stripburger certs next week I guess...if this doesn't work then no harm done, I've only spent $4 and will use that for something else anyway.

I think it should be OK - on the main page, on the gift certificates section, there's a link to view participating restaurants and Stripburger does appear there.

Thanks. Out of interest, has anyone stayed at Trump? eg got it by mishtake thru Priceline? :)

No, but I intentionally booked it through Hotwire for this September (knew it must be Trump when I was booking). We decided we wanted to try Trump, I like having a fridge etc. We're in Vegas 15 nights this year, 5 nights Orleans, 5 nights Desert Rose, 5 nights Trump.

I'm tempted to book a single night at Luxor (pyramid spa suite deal for about $70), just to try it as we've never stayed there and it sometimes comes up quite cheap. We'd do that from Desert Rose if we did it.

Also, on another subject - car hire. We'll be booking with Dollar through Netflights. Anyone know if it is ok to drive into California? We're thinking of driving to Laughlin, then up to Primm on the way back, cutting up in a sort of L-shape on the road that goes into California. Anyone know if insurance allows this?

Forgot to say .....was up at Red Rock Canyon on Thursday and after a wander about (nice new visitor centre since last time we were there) we stopped in at the Red Rock Casino. I think I can safely say that if this place was close to the strip it would be my casino of choice for a lot of our token gambling and messing about. It really is a very nice place, and going by the price of rooms pretty up market. Has anybody actually stayed there? Missus also hit it big on their daily players card swipe - winning a double status upgrade up to their platinum level so hopefully a few good offers might come through the post.

I really like it out there, not sure if the visitor centre has changed since we were last there - 2 years ago? We first went out there 3 years ago but the place was on fire, so we didn't get to see much. I remember we stopped at a place that had a motel, and a little petting zoo. It was closed, and it was really quite eerie and creepy, probably because there was no-one in sight. Anyone know what that might be like on a normal day when it was up and running?

We like the Red Rock buffet, have went a few times for b'fast, then drive around out at Red Rock (stopping for pics along the way) and then to the shops at Canyon Pointe. I think it's Best Buy, Marshall's and Bed Bath & Beyond. I like it there. I could happily stay at Red Rock, provided that I had a hire car of course. Would probably cost a fair bit for a taxi out there.

Yup. They seem to bundle NV CA and AZ (I think) together eg for "one way no extra charge".....although I had assumed that you could drive across the USA and back again if you wanted to as far as the insurance is concerned.

Hi all, as usual, like a moth to the flame, :D I'm trying to work out the most cost effective way to get back home ;) aka L.V.

This is mainly a question for thse who collect either airmiles or BA miles, I have joined both schemes and have a number of clubcard vouchers to convert either way.

Any thoughts on the better scheme please?

It would be for 2 adults, either economy or dare I dream upgrading a bit.

Before anyone says, yes I have looked on flyertalk and still after many, many hours reading can't really make head nor tail or it all.

    Cheers
