Hmmmm - Hotwire has Wynn (casino, golf, 5star) midweek for $99 August. Going to research this for next trip.

Do they not also have Venetian in the North strip section?
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

If you hover over "golf" it says within a short distance, which could mean Las Vegas CC which is behind the Hilton, or it could be including the course at Wynn, even though you can only play there if staying.
That is what has always put me off bidding, I want Wynn not Venetian, we all know how to avoid getting Trump.
Edit: If you go to the next page it says "this hotel charges a resort fee" does Veneitian charge a resort fee, or could it mean that it is Wynn?

Ah - something I do know on this topic - all Hotwire Wynn bookings in 2010 are resort fee free (its on betterbidding). Wynn results say no resort fee.

So its Venetian as it does charge a resort tax.

Presumably you dont use Priceline as you cant filter Trump out?

Nice info, thanks. BTW not a matter of filtering Trump out, just avoid the one that says condo:D

I was searching for recommended places to eat from restaurant.com and came across a tip on ChowHound which may help with the Stripburger situation so thought I would share...

Obviously the certificates there are always sold out way before the 80% off codes come around, BUT apparently it's possible to buy a generic restaurant.com gift certificate (not for a specific restaurant, basically acts as a store credit for their site) using the 80% off code, then use that on the 1st of the month to purchase specific certificates for 'in demand' places such as Stripburger for the discounted price :T

It's certainly possible to do the first part of this, as I have just purchased a general $50 certificate for $4 using the current code PLATE...whether or not I will manage to get a Stripburger cert or not remains to be seen - I'll be giving it a try on 1st August and will let you all know! If not, I'll just use the $50 credit for another restaurant either in Las Vegas or somewhere else on our trip, no harm done.

Edit: Just to add, the $50 credit doesn't need to be used for a $50 Stripburger (or wherever) certificate - it can be 2 x $25, 5 x $10 etc.

That's potentially a very excellent bit of information. And part of me is now wondering if this is one reason why the Stripburger certificates sell out so early, if there are so few of them, and if this is something people know about. I may have to give this a try as well. Thanks! :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
