Current USD rate today is $1.54 so the $1.56 from CCE is a hedge against the rate dropping.
    Ah, but what if????;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I don't know what they mean by you can't use it. It's only use is to skip the long queue at the main check-in and go right to the desk where the cars are. When you get there just show them your card, done it several times and always book third party.

This another email I had from them

Thank you for contacting Dollar Rent A Car. The Dollar Express service is not
available on Tour rentals. You and your wife will need to present your driver
license information at the counter. I apologize for any inconvenience.

It may be because I asked if I could add my wifes license number to my DE express membership

I realise its only to beat the lines, which is why I signed up, I have waited ages in the past.

Sorry for continuing questions but has anyone else used them when you have to add an aditional driver, will they do that downstairs

What do you mean by the times on VS suit you better? . The VS flight leaves earlier in the day so you would probably have to stay overnight if traveling from the North (and by all accounts is constantly a couple hours late leaving). LHR is much nearer to you as well, it takes over an hour to get to LGW from LHR. T5 at Heathrow is much nicer than the dump that is T2 Gatwick. Oh, and the 777 that BA use is far newer and more comfortable than the buckets that SRB makes you fly in.
Its more that I can get a train down to London for £10 the night before and stay with my travel companians and then a train back for the same price, whereas with the BA flight whilst I could get down for a tenner its about £70 on the way back as i'd be travelling in peak as the BA flight doesn't land until early afternoon.

Just not sure to hedge our bets and wait or get it booked, so was curious as to whether they are average prices for this year.

Surely adding an additional driver at the desk is way more expensive than changing your Carhire3000 booking to include driver and tank of gas (basically the dollar platinum thingy)??. the new voucher would have the missus info on it. You both will still need to show your licences "downstairs" but as Stoneman has said, it will allow you to avoid the queues.

Just a quickie - you know the way when you sign up fors some players cards you get a few free $ on the slots or pull(s) on a machine that never pays out ...well the missus signed up in the Golden Nugget and won a rather large amount of free slot play on their "rigged" machine tonight. Only the 2nd time someone had won for the lady who filled in the forms (she said she had signed up 1000's of folks). Spent the rest of the night trying to "convert" it to cash in the most economical way! Now to spend it tomorrow!

I think I am just confusing everybody here

I have booked and paid for additional driver with CH3000, I have never used DE before. The membership number is on my CH3000 voucher but DE dont have my wifes license number in advance (as they do mine).

The vouchers only have additional driver paid for, no details

I though the downsatirs desk had all the paperwork preprinted and ready to go. They cant do that if they have no knowledge of my wifes license number.

I wanted to avoid the queues. I will still try and get them top add my wifes license details downstairs..that is the issue

Special delivery from Crown arrived this morning. Thanks to the person that gave the original "order for Monday, receive on Saturday" tip.

I would check out the cost of alternative ways of getting back on the train. Don't assume the Virgin flight will land as scheduled.

When we were in Vegas in May, I was monitoring the arrival/departure times of both the BA and Virgin flights. For 5 days the Virgin flight was up to 7 hours late in arriving in LAS which consequently made the return departure and arrival 7 hours late.

I think I only saw it on or near scheduled time once.

All those people who chose Virgin over BA because they would arrive in LAS early afternoon were actually arriving a couple of hour later than the BA flight.

Can you not stay overnight with friends the night you land back and get a train next morning?

We did that last time and got delivery on the Saturday even though we are in North Scotland.

Yes we have and yes they do. We do both have Dollar Express membership though, but that didn't seem to make and difference.

I have added our numbers to a CH3000 booking, and have not added it to a Netflights booking. It didn't seem to make a difference to the person in the kiosk downstairs.
