CSI experience for 1/2 price now available at Goldstar.

looks like dates to early September at the moment...and the $4.50 per ticket fee is a bit appaling...but I suppose it's still better than $30 full price...and still better than using the $5 off coupon.

It's still too expensive for me based on the reviews I've read I think.

    Just looking for people's advice...

I know I'm looking waaaaay in advance but I'm getting all excited :D
Me and bf have booked flights to vegas (and LA) for May 2011, and I keep looking at hotels.

I've seen NYNY rates are out for May now, and we'd be looking at $65-80 a night (5 nights total incl resort fees and taxes $475). Is this a pretty reasonable rate for NYNY? I know you can always cancel, just wanted to get an idea. Should point out we're in LV Sun-Fri so avoiding weekend rates.

And what do people think of NYNY as a first-timers hotel? Bf has been before, to Planet Hollywood, so he wants something different this time. I know people will always have bad points, but me and the bf aren't too fussy, won't be spending masses of time in our room.
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard

According to the poll on page 1 , I notice 16.49% of people will be going to Vegas in September.

And British Airways are now in the process of planning more strikes for that month.

Does anyone know exactly where we stand should our flights be cancelled.

BA have always done, and always will run the Vegas flight during strikes.
I wouldn't worry too much about another strike, UNITE have gotten themselves in a right pickle over this, only just over 3,000 of over 12,000 BA cabin crew have voted to reject the offer, coincidentally that is about the same number that had their travel perks taken away.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I haven't been but those I know who have said it's quite easy and kind of boring - done in less than an hour and from what I understand the clues are so easy to figure out there's little challenge (if I remember correctly you choose options from a computer terminal of some sort).

We've done Mystery Adventures twice and while it's a bit more expensive it was great both times...lasted 2 1/2 -3 hours too.

Thanks for the info...we prefer to book direct with the hotel in Vegas because we do gamble quite a bit so can usually get some/most nights comped and get something knocked off at the end of the stay. I would like to try Venetian one time. I did check our dates and on Hotwire at the moment Venetian is $30 less than our booking at Encore for the Encore dates and I know based on last time we'll likely get $100 or so knocked off the Encore room (and we know we like Encore), so for us it's the better deal I think.

That's the trouble with playing the comps game-I'm starting to find I resent gambling outside of Total Rewards now LOL

That was my concern too when we flew BA in May. I wasn't worried about the LHR-LAS going, it was the ABZ-LHR which was a concern.

I checked which flights were cancelled in during the strikes and, of the 3 BA flights in the morning, one of them ran to schedule so would probably put you on that if your one was cancelled.

Failing that, there is a couple of BMI flights and I think BA would put you onto one of those if necessary.

    Hi,

I am just wondering what would be the best time to go to Vegas and get the cheapest rates for hotels and also cheap flights. Am I right that the best deals I might get between January-May or September and December?

    Thanks,
    P

The cheapest time for rooms is the week before Xmas. However room rates are still low at any time of year.

Your biggest expense is the flights which tend to be higher in the summer.
