I will try and clear my cookies, thanks.

In terms of flights from Newcastle down to Heathrow, its £60 for the two of us. Then there would be a small wait until flying direct.

Or fly in-direct from Manchester. The long wait between plane transfers varied from 4 hours, all the way up to 8 hours. I suppose it all depends on what you can find.

    Thanks again.

It's worth checking flights a day or two either side of your preferred flight. The day of the week can make a big difference. We are going 25th August - Wednesday - Wednesday for £406 each with Delta, via Atlanta. The Delta trans atlantic flight is pretty good

Yep, flights are certainly the main problem.

You cant win. I have found flights during our dates for £841 for the two of us.

The only problem is that the duration is only a week. Adding a few days hammers up the price to £1140 for 10 days, £1050 for 9, you cant win!

I have tried going on different days, coming back on others, all during the week, avoiding weekends, to no avail.

Yep US airways was the in-direct flights.

Hopefully they will get a bit cheaper though, £525 each today, £450 yesterday!

The only downside is the extra 5 hours on the travel time. But like you said, flying from Manchester would be easier.

In fact, via US Airways direct I can get the flights for £1033. The 4 hour wait between plane swaps there and back could be a downer though....

To be honest, we have found that immigration is much quicker at other airports than it is in Vegas. You might lose time on the way there, but since you get the immigration done elsewhere you just walk off the plane and on to the taxi line in Vegas, which is a bonus.

Our last time going through immigration at McCarran put us off direct flights unless they were significantly cheaper.

dannowd - the best way is decide if the price is worth it to you and book it, then don't torture yourself looking at the prices again. Most flights will continue to go up and up as seats fill, unless of course a sale comes along. I think anything under £500 is pretty decent, as flights aren't as cheap as they used to be.

Personally, the choice of driving or get the train to Manchester doesn't appeal to me. I'd always fly to London. It so much less hassle to get someone to drop me at the airport and then I don't have any driving etc on the way back. That's just me though....

Agree with the others - ignore hotels for now, you'll get offers on these nearer the time, so just book the flights. If you're uneasy about this, book a room with minimal deposit and a cancellation policy that allows you to drop out without penalty (booking direct with hotels will mostly have these conditions) and then book the hotels closer to the time.

Also notice they now have the Top of The World in - but max $25 and you have to buy 2 entrees and dinner only - might sway me to try it just for the view
