This is my third time to Vegas, Its just last time my phone bill when I got home was well over £300 so I'm keen not to have to come home to that again :-).
It was mainly trying to keep track of my friend and the phone calls home where the damage was done. I wasn't very money savvy back then.
I don't think the range will be an issue. I don't see my girlfriend and I being miles apart, its more like for example go to one of the outlet centres and we decide to look at different stores we can contact each other when we are ready to meet up or she wants me to come and see this or if we just wonder away from each other in a casino.
Just figured since I have a pair of Walkie Talkies and going to be paying for Wi fi via the resort fee anyway and going to be using call cards to call home would I need to buy a phone to use for a 10 days?
I wouldnt think walkie talkies would be much good in Vegas and they would look a bit odd.
Why not just stay together or arrange to meet somwhere later, why do you need to stay in touch with people in the UK..you are on holiday0 -
If you book through a third party in this country none of the bookings will go towards gaining any free days, etc. even if you can get the number added. But they will add it to your booking when you sign for the car if you want them to. We have joined most of the reward car hire things purely to jump the lines at the desks and go straight to the garage.
I am not bothered about any freebies, I only signed up to jump the queue and from Ferfs post it looks like that should work0 -

But obviously it would half the cost if we had two rooms, but I'm not aware of anywhere that has 4 adult beds!
Just a long shot...
As luci says you could get clobbered with extra person rates, you def would if you told them, of course you could sneak 2 people in, but I dont know of any 4 bedded rooms. Depending on when you are going you can get a 2 double bedded room for $40 (and less) so only $20 a head per night, that should be within anyones budget.0 -
AprilThis is what I have so far:
Flying from Manchester with Virgin direct isnt avaliable for our dates atm.
Flying from Manchester in-direct would cost £1051.00 for us both (1 stop each way).
Flying from Heathrow direct with BA would cost £1150.00
In-direct from Heathrow £1128.00 (again, 1 stop each way). Just found £1076.00 through KLM direct.
Direct with Virgin from Heathrow £1247.00.
Amazingly all in-direct flights have gone up quite a bit since yesterday, all for the same dates too!
Hotel wise, If we are staying 10 days (which is likely), I was thinking a week in a Flamingo Go room, and the remainder somewhere else (From MGM, The Mirage, The Rio, Ballys amongst others)
(5 days each in 2 hotels is also a good option.)
The Flamingo room would be about $1100 atm (Although a cheaper late booking will probably occur) £735ish then.
All is subject to change (and no doubt will), but the dates are pretty much set which is something.
Thanks for all the help so-far guys,
dannodw.
Edit: Also checked a package holiday for a week. Through Thomas Cook, 7 nights in New York and flights costs £1720 or £1800 for the Mirage.
Through Virgin, the package for a week, staying in New York is £1900.0 -

assume manchester indirect is US Airways . that flight is a lot better than Virgin and it's a lot nearer to you . travelling all the way down to Gatwick for direct flight is like taking a Indirect flight IMO , and it's that horror show of a 747 flying you out . ( yes it really is that bad)Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I echo that...those tin cans are so bad, unless you can get the private seat that Trets always manages to get:D0 -

Yep US airways was the in-direct flights.
Hopefully they will get a bit cheaper though, £525 each today, £450 yesterday!
The only downside is the extra 5 hours on the travel time. But like you said, flying from Manchester would be easier.
In fact, via US Airways direct I can get the flights for £1033. The 4 hour wait between plane swaps there and back could be a downer though....0 -
Is there an earlier flight that they could put you on when you arrive?
Remember to add the cost of the flight from Newcastle to Hrow to the total cost of the trip. And a few hours of checkin and travel time.illegitimi non carborundum0
