Hiya all, just after a little advice please.
Me and DH are going to Vegas next year but are torn over which hotel we should stay in.

It's either going to be Wynn or the Venetian. Can someone help make our minds up. Read both very good and very bad things about both, so would like peoples opinions. Or even if anybody could recommend somewhere else. Already stayed at Caesers, so that one is out (much to DH's disgust lol)

    Thanks very much. :T

IMO forget bad things you read about any Vegas hotel, they are all good, and the 2 you have mentioned are great

Can anyone give me advice on hotels in Vegas. Going April 2011 with my partner and 2 children. After a nice hotel but dont want to pay extra for the kids 8 and 3 in the room. When will be the best time to book the room also.

    Thanks

Have you read page 1 ?

I always take my son to Vegas, and have never been charged but it is getting more difficult to find a hotel that doesnt charge.

Have been to Flamingo a couple of times but they have now started charging for kids

There are ways around it by not putting them on the booking of course.

MGM dont charge and they have a great pool

Mandaly Bay dont charge and thats the best pool in vegas IMO

Orleans off strip is great as it is cheap doesnt charge and has a bowling alley and cinema

Both of those now charge a resort fee though:eek:

As others have said what do you want from a hotel ? and do you know that children loitering/stopping in a casino is against the law and you will be moved on.

As I said my son has been going to Vegas (we always include LA or other sights in western America) since he was 3, now 15 and we always find stuff for him to do, go karting etc etc

For the 2 posters above asking about hotels in Vegas and anyone else who wants to see lots of pics

    http://www.oyster.com/las-vegas/hotels/

On the first page go to "Browse hotels by area" down left hand side and then click on the hotel of choice there are loads (hundreds) of pics inside and out of the hotels.

as an example there are 323 pics at The Hotel MB

Two cheapest ways for me. If you have wifi included in the room, then I use Skype on my phone.

Alternatively, use a $5/10 calling card from Walgreens - provided 1-800 numbers are free in your room.

Dunno if it was me, but Signature seemed to have Skype and MSN blocked on their free-wifi.

This is what we do - though the hotels we've stayed at do charge for local calls (I think $1.25 for the first 20 minutes then a per minute charge after). I just find that calling from the comfort of the room is nicer than using a payphone.

Do not buy the calling cards out of the machines at the hotel though - they are really poor value...those at Walgreens/CVS/7-11, etc are much better.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Wow, having just discovered this thread, I can tell I am going to have to spend quite a few hours reading through everything :)

Well, In April 2011 I, with my father will be going to Vegas for the first time.

This is a gift off my father to celebrate my 21st Birthday, nice eh!

(My sister did get taken to New York for her 16th to make it even though :D)

I was just looking into all of our options when I stumbled across this thread, and now I have even less idea than I did before!!

Typically I would have gone to either Virgin or Thomas Cook and booked a package holiday. Having looked at these for our dates already, a week long stay would be costing around £1000 per person, so £2k total (for flights and hotel stay anyway).

Now I don't know if I should book flights and hotels separately, in fact I dont know much :rotfl:

    * What Hotel to stay in (I was looking at Caesars but really dont know atm)

    * Do we fly direct or not (My father really would prefer too though)

    * Most importantly, what to do during the week!!

I will be looking over this thread, well probably for the next 8 months, until we actually go.

I look forward to all the advise people will be offering, and you never know, I may be able to provide some too.

    Thanks for now,

    dannodw.
