October , NovemberJust back a few hours ago from our 6 week trip. when I get my head straight, get the washing done and Tony back to Spain, I'll sort out a TR.
One thing I will mention is that while I was re-checking in the other day I overheard a couple arguing with the desk clerk. They had pre-paid in full for their trip (don't know who with) and were horrified to find that the reservation didn't include the resort fee. Just something to check if you are going through a third party to book a hotel with a resort fee.0 -
This doesn't seem to take account of the weekend rates which are typically double or more than Sun-Thurs.
You are right, I guess I should have mentioned weekend rates, I usually go to the Orleans for fri and sat, its usually cheaper than most strip hotel week night rates. I have 2 weekend nights comped this year:D0 -
thanks luci that was what i needed to know
whilst waiting for some money to clear in my account to book some flights i had a quick look on thomas cook flights + hotel and they have flights + paris for 9 nights for £1490 - the flights are with continental there (connecting houston) and united on way back (connecting toronto). anyone have any experience of these airlines & what their transatlantic flights are like? are there any drawbacks by doing it this way - am i less likely to get upgraded in the hotel as i booked through a third party. i know there is more flexibility if done seperately but its def cheaper for this thomas cook deal.
i think i have over-thought this whole thing lol!

Book it,Its a good price, I like Paris, there are some cheap family and friends rates there at mo for about $60 a night but that wont include the 2 weekend nights you have.
Big plus at Paris is you can get a room overlooking the Bellagio fountains, at least I always have done with a $20 tip (may have got it without) although have been told each time that should be $x extra per night.
Def mention wedding at check in0 -
Septemberooooh ok stoneman thats good to know cos i was gonna do $20 but we would be staying 8 nights so i guess i will go for $40 then. is it worth mentioning we are getting married mid-week so this is our honeymoon too- dont wanna get turned down and look silly lol!! do you have more or less chance of getting an upgrade if you are staying as long as 8 days? i always make the mistake of reading trip advisor reviews and there are some really bad ones for paris but i keep telling myself there will be bad reviews for every hotel in the world - cant please all the people all the time afterall! its nice to know what people on here think of it though - it seems like its a good deal for a cenre strip hotel esp if i can get the upgrade to a fountain view p-room
p.s just looked at their rooms on their website - their standard room looks quite dated compared with their red rooms - but the p rooms arent listed - are they referred to as something else/.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Ask at Angel Park if they still do free club rental if you have a flight stub. They ran this last year and we took them up on it once. AP is our "home" course when in Vegas, 2x 18 hole courses, try the Mountain course as opposed to the Palm, much better greens.
While recommonding one course over the other is fine, be aware that there is a pre-planned maintenace schedule on the AP website. Check it out for the date of your trip! you don't want to be playing the mountain course the day after they over seed , or drill/filled/sanded.0 -
October , NovemberThanks everyone for the replies I got the other day regarding the cirque shows and canyon tours.
Can someone give more info on the grand adventures tour? I've seen the website and I cant tell what pace the tour takes?
We're young active people and from experience we've found we like our tours to give us the chance to really explore the area and we dont mind if the pace is fast and it's hot/tiring. The last thing we'd want is a bus tour with several 'drop off' stop points to take a snap shot and then back on the bus to the next stop etc
Any futher recommendations?
thankyou!0 -
MayWe have stayed in a Red Room and a P Room and much preferred the P room.
There is nothing wrong with Paris and I'm sure you will be more than happy with it. Don't pay too much attention to the reviews on TA as some of those people are so picky it's a wonder they ever leave home.0 -

well, yay then!! Every time I asked for a diet coke on Virgin and got that stupid tiny can of Virgin Diet Cola I winced - never remembered before it was too late. But do they serve full sized cans as they do on AA?It's the little things that make me happy.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Do you drive? Driving would be a much better option if you want the freedom to explore. I've not taken one of the bus tours...though can see that this one seems to be a smaller group and not a full coach, but I would guess that the pace will depend on the group you are in...if it's you and a group of younger folks I would think the pace would be picked up more than if it was a mostly older group or a mixed group.
There are loads of reviews here so maybe have a read to see if you can pick up anything.

One of the reviews says:
At the Grand Canyon itself, Mike guided us on a leisurely walking tour from the South Rim, taking in some spectacular views. Neither myself or my wife are hikers but the walk was not strenuous (approx 2 miles maximum)Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
