    thanks

you can use a debit or credit card, just put in your address but put in a US zip code like 89109 - you can pay by PayPal too.

Current code 70% off is FATHER, good to 20th June.

If you live near Croydon don't forget the bus from Heathrow to East Croydon is only £1.20 with an Oyster. (also stops at places like Kingston and Sutton).

Thanks Duchy - I didn't know about the bus - I live in Coulsdon. There will be four of us though, all with cases.

My routing is a little insane -I'm going to Gatwick-dropping my bags at left luggage (too early for twilight check in) and getting a Ryanair cheapie to Dublin -spending the day in Dublin with friends then my Vegas fare starts in Dublin with an Aer Lingus flight to Heathrow (although I'm hoping I can persuade them to let me standby on the Gatwick flight as it looks wide open). If I go to Heathrow I'll take the bus to Croydon and hop on the train to Gatwick and I have the Yotel booked for £42-which looks kind of fun. Next morning I'll get up -stroll to check in when it opens -then return back to the Yotel McD's brekkie in hand for a nice long shower and a bit of TV and free wi-fi before going through security for the Virgin flight.

Even with the Ryanair flight and the Yotel it's nearly £200 cheaper than the cheapest LON LAS for my dates. Coming back I'll obviously "miss" the Heathrow Dublin connection .

Bit of an adventure and obviously I'm praying for no more volcanic clouds over Ireland but I'm treating the day in Dublin as an extra bit of holiday and the chance for a nice girlie lunch.

Now that is an adventure - good luck with that!:rotfl:

    Hello everyone,
Just spent a few hours catching up on the thread!

Mooky - thanks for the trip report - really good and loved the photos! Me & OH fly to Vegas in 12 days (WoooHoooo), staying at the Encore for 5 nights, so the photos of the room was interesting - looks bigger than the Wynn ones.

Thanks for the warning about the $20 per day resort fee at the Wynn/Encore. VERY ANNOYED with that. I booked through Atlaschoice (cracking deal) BUT I was a bit sceptical that they were going to add charges on, so I got an email from them stating that no charges were to be added or resort fees. Hmmmm, wonder if that still stands.... I HOPE so!!! $100 isnt a small amount really is it?!

Ellis Island - great to see photos of people enjoying the BBQ meal - great isnt it?! Cannot wait to sample it again - with the ACG coupons its buy one, get one free - result!

Matt Goss - great to hear that you enjoyed the show and actually got to have a drink with him - excellent!

Will be back on here before I fly off to Vegas to get wed.

    Nice to catch up!
    Steff;)

I used to live in Purley -if I still did I'd definitely use it. Bus to East Croydon then pick up a cab at the rank to Coulsdon.
The big plus with it is no steps. The slightly faster way is bus Heathrow to Feltham then train (change at Clapham Junction) to Coulsdon South -but the steps at CJ are a pain with luggage.

I like routes without steps though -if travelling to Victoria from Heathrow I will take the National Express bus rather than deal with changing on the tube and the steps at Victoria-much less stressful and takes about the same time.

I wasn't going to post this, as to be honest it appears to be a really naff marketing stunt and it made me cringe to be honest - especially the conducting the fountains bits

... however, (intentional or not!), he and a stewardness fall into the water on about the 3 minutes mark :D

edit: so 'yes'! the marketing stunt worked ;)

    Hey guys,

We just got back yesterday from our week long trip (first time too!), and just wanted to say thanks. All the advice, info and links were a massive help in making our holiday what it was. We packed so much in to the week.
I plan to do a TR later today, as I have enjoyed reading so many other peoples reports. And we did a couple of things i havent read about on here before.

Incredible week, and we already want to go back asap!

Today's Groupon looks quite interesting for a trip away from the strip:

    http://www.groupon.com/las-vegas/

$15 for the Hoover Dam Postcard Raft Tour from Black Canyon River Adventures ($33 Value)

The deal expires in about 2 days & 11 hours from now, so I guess Monday morning UK time.

The Groupon voucher if purchased will expire on 21 December, 2010.

Someone on tripadvisor says they called to ask the question - looks like it depends on how you're paying for the booking (i.e. up front or not). May be worth calling them (use the international call checker on this site for cheap calls to the US) to confirm.
