MarchThanks for info. I have had a look at the Virgin website for flights and I can see they are starting a service direct from Manchester in April 2011, I have also browsed the AA site and the prices seem good if I was going in October of this year albeit the flights with AA are not direct.
Has anyone any experiences with either of these carriers?
Thanks again, by the way the purpose of my trip is to get married.
Congrats on the wedding
I've flown with both AA and Virgin to Vegas. You'll find some info on post 1 too. The Virgin flight is direct, but mostly, it's an old crappy plane to Vegas, unless you get very lucky and they've swapped it out for some reason. It's not comfortable!
The stop with AA for indirect is a good way to stretch your legs, but booking with a non EU carriers since the volcano carries a small risk now, as these carriers wouldn't cover you for any volcanic ash delays. Being stuck myself for a week in April, these costs can sure add up.......
It's also worth mentioning that it seems a lot of the time (imho) that the Virgin flight gets delayed leaving London, so if you're booking to arrive earlier in the day, there's no guarantee that will be the case by going with Virgin.
I'd prob choose the cheapest. If they're the same, weigh up if you would prefer direct or indirect. Both have pro's and con's......Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

MayThanks, cannot get any in Oct to work though
Just tried and I'm getting the same, but I think it may be a blip rather than that every offer seat is sold out.
I can never get the TM site to work with offer codes so I suggest you do as I do and call the Box Office. The number is on the Mirage website and you can call cheaply using the link in Trets post earlier.0 -

I have a lot of respect for someone who is prepared to run 26 miles in that kind of heat. Maybe you are just plain mad !0 -
October , Novemberhi all,
just new to the site and was wondering does anyone have advise on group booking flights?
we are getting married at mandalay bay on 1st sept 2011 and will be looking to book flights when they go on sale.we will have about 10-15 in our group and we werent sure if there are any advantages of group booking.
we have been to vegas twice both times a direct flight(once virgin and once thomas cook) we would love to do direct again but we will obviously exhaust all options as this time we're taking the kids and getting married so the cheaper the better!!!!!0 -
well try lots of different combinations of numbers .
E.G 6 on one booking and 9 on another . The Airline will have a certain number of cheap seats for sale when they release the flights . you want to bag these .
i'll give you an example . i was searching for a flight to USA and found a price of £300 . i was simply putting my dates in with one person travelling . liking the price i then tried to book with 2 only to find the price was £320 per ticket , yet trying booking one person again and the ticket was £300 . Rang them up and they said that they only had one £300 ticket available , thus trying to book for 2 both went up to the next allocation/ price .
might work for you , might not make a bit of difference , but at least you can try it if you like .
with that many flying make sure you collect all the airmiles ect , and use Quidco if it is available ( Virgin flights are on Quidco )
http://www.quidco.com/virgin-atlantic/?acBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Ahh, but at least it is a dry heat:D
Don't know if it is still the record but we were there on the day the bomb blasts in London 7/7 and it was 118, was reported that was the all time high at the time. Me, I kinda like it, you know where you are when it's hot;)
Doesnt beat the 143* I had to work in, way back in the 80s though!!!!
That was HOT !!!!!!0 -
Hi Bailey Trets has told you best way to phone but I emailed them the other week on this address signatureconcierge@lv.mgmgrand.com about our stay and they replied within a few hours (I was very impressed) I panic a bit so I like the email option where it works so I have stuff in writing haha! But we have also called a few times before and they were fine as well. Roll on Sept!
Thanks, they emailed back within a day and changed the booking with the new code.
thanks0
