    Oh well, I got my arm twisted again!! Funny we both sit down after we arrive back home and seem to complain about things, and within a few weeks she is saying "when we going back again". So booked 2 reward Clubworld seats with BA for end of May (thanks to more than 150,000 Tesco redemptions) Still costing over £700 in taxes and fees though, ouch!
    Also dumped the idea of AC and going to Miami for a cruise and stay in November, (AA reward flights). So yesterday i managed to book 2 holidays in less than 1 hour.

    If I'm honest, I didn't think you'd be staying away from Vegas for long ! Don't think it helps reading this forum, it gives you a kind of addiction, well it does for me.

    With 8 lads you wil do fine at the HR, they have a new tower now, so it's a lot more roomy. Re-designed the pool as well, and you will know what the pool there is like, wall to wall bikinis. You will have the same problem with cabs though, as there isn't really enough in the casino to keep you busy. How about Flamingo, the pool is awesome for young lads.

    Poker room was pants there. I wouldnt stay there out of choice because of the location.

    As it's quite big, you can view it here;

    There's also a few photos here including the rooms at each hotel;

    Enjoy!

    Great trip report and photos!! I loved reading it, you guys seem to have similar overall likes and dislikes to us. Also, one day your hubby and mine should share war stories about the crazy sleepy rantings. :)
    Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Thanks, cannot get any in Oct to work though

    I have had the same problem. And the travelzoo link to the offer now doesn't show dates beyond end of August for Love at least.

    done Vegas 6 times before...this will be my 7th time, we're looking at going away in October. First off I'd like to ask about American Airlines. Their prices are a tad cheaper than most other airlines, but I've never been with them before. They seem good enough, what's the general feeling towards the AA Vegas flights?

    Secondly I've always done Vegas with family and never really experienced the night life properly. With 8 lads (youngest is 22) are there any hotels in paticular you'd suggest? I have stayed at the Luxor 4 times purley for the price, but found out the money we save we ended up spending on taxi's, so I'd like to stay a bit further up the strip!

    Expedia.co.uk have some great deals for the Hard Rock Casino....but I've read very mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. Add to the fact the same situation as the luxor...we'd end up spending money on taxi's left right and center.
    id go mgm, not that much further up then Luxor but we found it close enough to walk to places plus got monorail. 5 lads went last time we clubbed a lot at mgm and got queue jump cos we were staying there. You can use monorail to get around places as well. Plus the pool is best in vegas imao.

    We were in the Hard Rock this afternoon and it was DEAD! One good thing was that there were more cocktail waitresses than gamblers, bad thing was I was driving.

    I found that when I've been in there before now... It's only the name that it has going for it. The location is awful!

    10 days and I'll be there :):):)

    MGM Grand adding RESORT FEE !!!!!

    lifted from Vegasmessageboard

    Apparently beginning on July 5th, MGM is going to charge you a resort fee. This, according to their website is "for your convenience". So, "for your convenience" they will take that $10 out of your pocket. I have stayed at MGM the past 3 years; however now because of the resort fee, it looks like I will be staying somewhere else for my Vegas trips.

    Here is the info from MGM's website:
    For your convenience, beginning on June 7th for arrivals after July 4th, a daily resort fee of $10 plus tax is added to your room account and includes the following hotel services: Complimentary high speed internet, $15 beverage credit per stay available at any MGM Grand-owned bar, daily USA Today newspaper, local and toll free numbered calls, limited Business Center Services such as outgoing faxes, copies, notary, and boarding pass printing.

    First of all I want to say a quick thanks to the contributors in this thread. As a long-time lurker (going back to the 2007 thread) the information has saved me plenty of cash and provided countless ideas in my 4 trips!

    Re the above though, does anybody know if the resort fee will apply to rooms booked before it was introduced/made compulsory? I have a booking with MGM (an offer kindly posted by pennylane99) and this will obviously influence whether or not to change the booking.

    Thanks in advance.

    Usually bookings made before it was announced escape the resort tax. Bit rum MGM doesnt even include the fitness centre.
